MO - Stockton, Agape Boarding School-Allegations of Kids Abused for Over 30 Years

OH FUDGE!!!! I HATE MISSOURI! New School to open Stone of Help.

Another religious school to open on the Agape Grounds! Is all of our work for nothing?

Satch

Of course. The name of the new school seems to be mocking the public while promising to continue delivering the same abusive treatment to innocent kids.

The new people who are seeking a permit to open a new school in Missouri, literally less than half a mile from the Agape Site are Jennifer and Jason Derksen. Sorry to use their full names, but we are so disgusted with the work they are doing, and in the link above, they claim that "Most of the charges against Agape are not true!" OMG! We have to take steps to stop them from opening up this school! And these people are alumni of Agape! SICK!

Andrew Bailey is the new Missouri Attorney General, He needs to be contacted to set up a watchdog platform against the Derksen's to stop them from building this new school called "Stone of Hope" Please contact him!!! The link below goes to his page.

No offense, but AG Bailey's priorities on his new job are a bit discouraging. I would hope if he's so concerned about kids, he'll want to put a stop to these abusive schools. Hope.

He is a graduate of University of MO School of Law, which is a good law school, not a diploma mill. JMO, legal help should come from outside the state, if possible.

This news gives reason for some hope. For the first time, federal charges have been brought against a Catholic priest, though it was based on a violation of the Mann Act. Have any of these students been taken across state lines by members of the school?

This priest was convicted on federal charges, but they were related to the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 found on his computer.

Sadly, Missouri is not the only state that refuses to prosecute child abusers for religious reasons. It's rare for a state do do that, but there are a few. Very sick. There has to be a way to protect minor children from severe institutional abuse.

Really disturbing. Agape is really disturbing. Like many other institutional abuse cases like Penn State, BBC, Celtic Boys Club, and USA Gymnastics.

Guys,

A great Social Media friend of mine Brett Harper, himself a former survivor of Agape Boarding School, a writer, and researcher of The Troubled Teen Industry, advocating for policy change to save children from abuse at these "religious" schools has started a petition to shut down the new "school" "Circle of Hope." (This is "The New Agape") planned to be built near the same grounds as Agape Boarding School.

Please consider signing the petition to prevent this new torture chamber for children, sickeningly called "Stone of Hope" from being opened:

Please retweet this to as many sites as you know to prevent more kids from getting abused. Thank you!

I am not looking forward to the trial,

Missouri is so corrupt that the defendants of Agape Boarding School will probably "Get Off." If they are convicted of anything, it will be a slap on the wrist and they will just open up in other state under a different name. Or just down the road in the same area. See "Stone of Hope" the new Agape Boarding School, run by Agape alumni. Just an opportunity for more kids to be beaten and abused, again, and again, and again. We have to stop Stone of Hope from opening business.

It is corrupt. The state has really gone downhill. It's depressing to go home for visits. Family is ok, but the state isn't.

Greetings,

Can a moderator please change the title of this thread to something like "Stone of Hope"The New Abusive Agape Boarding School?" Former Agape alumni are continuing the same horrors under a different name! It is just down the road where Agape used to be located!

Community members of Webslueths. Please feel free to sign my friend Brett's petition,to shutdown "Stone of Hope." He continues to live with night terrors and physical disabilities from being sadistically beaten at Agape, decades ago. Now a strong advocate for protecting teens from abusive concentration camps, masquerading as religious schools, he could really use your help! Please do what you can.Thank you!

Not very good news. Two defendants in the abuse cases pleaded guilty to misdemeanor offenses. That's terrible. No one is being punished, though they've committed crimes. The school is still operating in spite of many efforts to close it.

The politicians are hiding behind that local judge who keeps derailing every effort to close it and properly prosecute the abusers. Scary.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt’s office filed a motion in early September to close Agape, calling it “an immediate health and safety concern” for children living there. Later that month, the Republican speaker of the Missouri House, Rob Vescovo, sent a letter to U.S. Attorney Teresa Moore in Kansas City also urging closure of Agape.

In October, Pyle canceled hearings that had been scheduled to consider Schmitt’s motion. No new hearings have been scheduled, and the school continues to operate.
Why is Schmitt just "filing a motion" to close the school? He and state health officials have the power to order it closed.

Guys,

I can't find any websites for the school saying it is still open. Everything says closed. The publication date for those links is December, 2022. It was reported in March of this year (2023) that six students have filed lawsuits against the school:

For Agape Ranch? Hope so. Maybe AP got it wrong. This article from OzarksFirst says it was closed for the final time
