Recovered/Located MO - Tammy Ward, 51, Springfield, 8 August 2017

The Springfield Police Department is asking for help in searching for a missing woman who has a mental disability and may currently be homeless, according to a press release.

Tammy Ward, 51, was last seen on Aug. 8, according to the release, when a relative dropped her off for an appointment in the 300 block of East Central Street to receive assistance with housing.

Ward is white, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 280 pounds and has gray hair, blue eyes and glasses. Her hair is slightly longer than it is in the photo, the release said.

Anyone who has seen Ward or has any information about her should immediately dial 911 or call the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810.

It makes me so sad, this is about the 3rd person in the last few days with mental health issues. They are being dropped off and they disappear!! Take time to go with them and protect them. It makes my heart break.

- The Springfield Police Department has located a woman reported missing for nearly two weeks.

Tammy Ward, 51, disappeared after a relative dropped her off at an appointment August 8 in the 300 block of East Central. She was trying to receive housing assistance at that appointment.


Police did not share where they found ward.
