GUILTY MO - Thomas Triplett, 29, shot to death, St Francois County, 22 April 2011

Charges have been filed against one person in connection with the fatal shooting of Tommy Triplett Jr. Friday.

Robin Nichole Lucas, 35, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Bond has been set at $2 million. Lucas, who had a sex change to become a woman, is being held in a cell by herself.

Three others who were in custody were released pending further investigation.

Triplett, 29, died after being shot in the chest at a residence on Crow Lane in the northern end of St. Francois County. At this time, Sheriff Dan Bullock is not releasing any more information about what led to the shooting.

According to the probable cause statement filed in court records, officers had received an anonymous tip about a meth lab there and raided the property on Thursday. No arrests were made at that time.

After the murder, three witnesses who were at the property during and after the raid told Det. Sgt. Russ Qualls that Lucas thought Triplett was the anonymous tipster. They said she was “going to shoot him.”

Robin Lucas was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder...

Two witnesses said they were there with Lucas on April 22 when someone pulled up in a vehicle in the driveway and honked a horn. One said she saw Lucas head immediately for the gate armed with the rifle.

Both witnesses said they heard one shot.
