I don't know if keeping them at the station this long indicates LE has them in their sights. In other cases, the family is questioned just as long but the body usually has not been found as fast. Locating the body does not end the investigation, though. It kind of feels like they are just doing what they normally would do in the investigation.

Poor people, to have to be there to find out. I'd go crazy. I'd lose my mind. I just cannot imagine what happened here. All these little babies being killed. I do not understand. Is it just me or have we been having a rash of these in the last few years?

my heart aches for this family. Absolutely aches. This one especially hits close to home have a 13 month old myself.

How could you harm something so pure and filled with joy and wonder?

It's gotta be someone with a purely evil soul. Poor, sweet baby boy.

BBM excellent comment!!! They close gaps to find the truth.

Talking about people & speculating on how they live their lives when I don't know them is NOT something I choose to do -- I was taught that is being judgmental. Until you walk in their shoes, you have no right to talk about them.

It's boring to read the same opining posts over & over (sometimes by the same poster) -- not that it is occurring in this thread, though -- and has caused me to stop reading certain threads. I come here for facts & insight, not judgments unless at the end of a trial - :innocent:

Thanks to those who followed this with me as it happened. As a local it was my pleasure to provide you local links & information.

WS is a well known crime forum. The ins and outs and possible suspects of crimes are discussed daily. That's why I joined this forum and no other.

In my post I did not judge the mother per se.

Someone did judge me and call me judgemental tho, as soon as I posted.
Kinda like whistling dixie outta both sides of ones mouth. iykwim :)

I am devastated to hear this. I just read the entire thread before posting. This is so very sad and makes me sad, yet so angry. My boyfriend and I are broke up b/c of my passion to follow cases of missing/harmed children. I go to bed every night with thoughts of who harmed Baby Lisa and just searching my brain for any reasoning. After reading this entire thread, I'm really depressed. Maybe by bf has a point about this passion of mine.

Anyway, after saying all of that, I hope this baby killer suffers for the rest of his/her life. I am NOT going to jump to conclusions and point fingers at the mother. Also with the way the baby was found...face down, naked, not covered. If a mother had found baby Tyler dead in his crib and then did this to cover up, I can't see how any mother would leave a child in a condition such as this. But then again, I go back to poor little Caylee and how she was disposed of.

Folks, no matter how much we don't want to call a spade a spade, I believe so many of us are truly jaded after the Casey/Caylee ordeal. I don't even like to put their names close together like that. But, with me thinking, no way would a mother trying to cover up, just dump a naked kid in a cemetary naked, or, in a river, I always come back to the fact of how Caylee was disposed of. It changed us all. Susan Smith actually changed us first.

So, I guess anything is possible, but I am not going to point fingers at the mom by no means until we hear more solid info. This is just so sad. May the person who killed Tyler, suffer at the hands of our justice system and never get a wink of sleep for the rest of their life. I really do think that maybe, if anything good has come from Caylee Anthony is that LE now, are sure to leave no stone unturned. If Caylee caused that to be the case, then thank you Caylee for making all of us more diligent and you are forever in our hearts.

I completely agree that the way this baby was found, if reports are correct, is not in keeping with how "mothers" discard their children. I have heard conflicting reports, though. On the thread, it was reported that he was found without clothes or a blanket (that the shaken people who found him said "No" when asked by a reporter, but then I heard that an officer said "yes" when asked. I guess we will have to see.

I cannot imagine what that poor couple feels like right now. Think of that, out for a nice stroll with the dogs and then the dogs start alerting or sniffing at something. I don't know how people survive such things without losing their minds. The horror of it will never leave them.

Was it confirmed if the man with the baby in a blue blanket is the suspect?

Who is so evil to disrobe a baby and lay his body in a cemetary?
Almost sounds person. The body was close to the front of the cemetary.
Could this person have wanted Tyler found easily?

My heart aches for this baby and his loved ones.

from the latest article

"At this point there are no suspects. Nor has anyone been eliminated as a suspect," Fitch said.

Meanwhile, police received reports of a man in a dark hoody carrying a small child in a blanket on Tuesday along a wooded area not far from the family home.

Fitch said officers were searching for that man for questioning.

I am hoping they track whoever this person is down. And I pray, if he is responsible, justice is served swiftly.

Little Tyler is enveloped in the warmth of the heavens now.

Nothings been confirmed to my knowledge. This has all happened so fast. This is going to be one heck of a sleepless night for the investigators.

But my sense is that whoever dumped Tyler was in a big hurry. I don't know that they meant him to be found quickly, because he's kind of in tree, off on the side in some brush.

And now thinking that through, if whoever did this was in a huge hurry, and just got rid of the body as quickly as possible without much thought, that tells me they are not a methodical person, not practiced at deceit. They don't have the mind to calmly plan through what they are going to do and how they will cover it up.

I think it's fair to judge in some cases. People do awful or stupid things that can lead to bad outcomes. If a mother lets a known sex offender move in with her and her child, I judge her. If a mother drinks enough to pass out on the same night her child disappears, I can't help but judge her. I'm not going to judge in this case, though, because I can too easily relate to needing some freaking sleep already, LOL. There's nothing to indicate her oversleeping led to her child's death. She was asleep at 3 am and 6 am, too. Both of which could have been times when this precious went missing. After DB's story, though, it makes me raise an eyebrow. This one seems to have verified sightings of an intruder or..someone. I always think family in cases like this. The stats are just so against a stranger-killer in a child this young. And most stranger-abductors want infants.

My gut says the father, particularly if there was a protection order filed in the past.

Still, if I was a Lisa Irwin investigator I'd be taking an extra hard look at local cemeteries. I think Lisa died in her home and there was no intruder involved, but leave no stone unturned, all that.

I had another thought. Maybe, if Tyler was indeed left naked and without a blanket, it's because whoever killed him wanted to get rid of any evidence on his pajamas or the blanket that may link to the murderer. Maybe it wasn't out of a sense of wanting to humiliate the child or the family or a sexual thing. Maybe just hiding evidence. I hope LE is searching roadways and trash bins. If this person was in a hurry, they probably dumped the clothes and blanket somewhere quickly as well.

I'm guessing he was strangled or smothered, poor little man.

There's a case to sleuth. It's a horrible one, as such a precious baby was just killed, so emotions are high. But I'd rather sleuth than fight. There's a lot of stuff to discuss.

MEM2010, We have so much evil in the world now. We have someone close to our family that is right at 13 months. Tyler's death makes us all want to hug our loved ones a little longer. We can only do our best to keep our babies safe. I don't think I'll ever understand the mistreatment and murder of children.

I agree and sad to say, it is possible the baby was killed in his own home and was left to look as though he was taken for another reason. If the baby was indeed found naked, that seems unusual for a sex offender, only because you would think he would have taken the child much farther away, especially one so young and helpless, he would not have had any trouble taking him in a car and driving out of the area. That is why I am leaning at least toward someone associated in some way with the family, be it the "oddball" neighbor no one ever suspects until something horrible happens, or someone who was a regular visitor to the home. I am hoping the truth comes quickly for all concerned. Far too many unsolved child cases.

MomOfBoys-love your hat.
I had the same kind of thought about baby Lisa. I hope LE calls a new search to local cemetarys after hearing about llittle Tyler. (Im leaning towards your theory as well.)

I wish someone would explain why a baby is taken and killed? People who do this are soul less.

Now I keep coming back to the pajamas... for two hours after this story broke the only photo available was of the pajamas he was wearing and a blanket that was missing. All facebook posts from local news outlets didn't have a picture of baby Tyler, but kept focusing on the pajamas. I searched walmart, kmart, target, amazon... all the regular places to buy pj's for kiddos and cannot find those particular pj's. Perhaps they were a garage sale find, and not currently on sale. Not that this means anything, but what are the odds of having two identical sets of pajamas? I've had 5 kids and cannot even recall buying identical pj's. Not that it can't happen, I just find it a little odd. And what are the odd's of him disappearing in the pj's that you just happen to have an identical set of to give to LE on the morning that you accidentally overslept.

What happened to baby Tyler and who is responsible?!?! This case is so totally heart breaking.

Hey Krimekat, I just wanted to thank you for keeping us updated throughout this thread since you live so close. I'm way out here in Virginia and couldn't find any TV channel that was covering this story.

I have a question for you, thinking you might have some idea of an answer. It was reported that Tyler was found in a cemetary, yet the pictures where they had the white cover over him, did not look like a cemetary and it was stated that a couple walking their dogs are the ones who found his body. I know everyone is crediting LE for the fast work since more evidence can be preserved, however, what I'm wondering is, since the mother reported this soon after 11:00 or before noon, and it was reported that his body was found after 3 p.m., my question is, is the area he was found, not one that people would usually travel on foot. I'm just really curious as to why it took three hours for anyone to find him, if he was in an area where people were walking their dog. Obviously he wasn't well hidden, but I would think someone would have happened upon this child's body way before 3 pm. Makes me wonder if someone didn't take Tyler from his bed like at 10:00 a.m. or closer to time the mother woke up. What are your thoughts on that, considering you know the area so well. TIA.

It was a bit chilly, overcast & a work/school day, so the limited number of people out & about may have something to do with not readily locating the body. Also, during the 930p broadcast on Fox2News I saw/heard the Chief say the body was behind a tree away from the trail that follows along River Des Peres Road, so a passer-by would have to climb up a minor incline off the trail into the public-way (which is wooded) or into the cemetery (which also has lots of trees), like a dog walker would. I suspect the dog walkers veered off the trail for the dogs to do their "bidness" & saw the body around 330p. Typically walkers would not take off the trail into the "wilderness".

Even though some leaves have fallen, it appears in the video when the copter found the white sheet, the "tree" or bush was still green. Maybe an evergreen or juniper ?

There are many green-ways & cemeteries in this part of StL. And Google map shows the terrain well. Look for where River Des Peres Road & Gravois Road intersect and you will see New St. Marcus Cemetery. The body was there by Olde English Road . . . and the street where Tyler lived is a bit farther west (Clevedon Street). Very close to each other !

I have no idea or opinion when this little guy went missing. I just pray that LE is on the case.

The pjs/blankets might have been gifts from two different people. Mom/grandma might have found them on sale and bought two sets because she liked the print or they were the only boy print the store had. Someone could have given her a second used set like the set she had purchased.

There's really nothing sinister about a baby having two sets of the same clothes.

Also websites don't always have the same clothes available that they do in the stores.
