State of Missouri Endangered SILVER Advisory

The Newton County has issued an Endangered SILVER Advisory for a missing adult incident that occurred at 16144 Beech Road, Diamond, MO at 8:00 PM on 06/04/2018.

The endangered SILVER advisory missing adult is:

William Elmer Burns, a white male, age 80, hgt 508, 165 lbs, grey/white hair, blue eyes, pale complexion, wearing a ball cap, grey t-shirt, and blue jeans. Unique characteristics: Burns has a scar under his beard and walks with a wooden cane.

Diagnosed Medical Condition(s): Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Vehicle Information:

Grey 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis bearing MO, BR70X last seen driving southbound on Carver Road in Diamond, MO.

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Silver Person incident:

Burns left his residence after a disagreement with family. He has an unknown destination, however, he recently talked about traveling to Arizona.

I really hate hearing about stories like this. Not knowing what stage their dementia/Alzheimer's is at, it's hard to tell if their actions will seem logical to most people or not. It also makes them so much more vulnerable to all the people looking for someone to take advantage of. I hope they find him soon, in good health, and take away his keys.
