MO - Woman escapes from Excelsior Springs house, says she's been held against her will since September 2022

  • #21
It’s Cassidy Rainwater all over again and it’s Missouri again :-(
I had the same thought and went to maps to see if it the 2 cases were geographically close. They aren’t - about 175 miles or 3 hours drive. Still can’t help wonder of Phelps and Haslett knew each other…

Is this close to where Abby and Libby lived?

"The woman had told police that there were possibly two other victims, though police declined to say if other victims were suspected or had been located."

"A cadaver dog was brought out to search the property Friday, but police declined to comment on any findings. A truck was moved into an evidence area and neighbors reported witnessing the removal of a blue barrel from the basement into the yard, which was placed under an evidence tent that had been set up Friday."

Cases like this, I miss Ann Rule. She’d already be writing as all this unfolds.

<modsnip - possibilities, even from approved sources, are not allowed. Facts only, folks>

State lines aren't far away. Seen some speculation that if there are any victims from the Kansas side (not far away at all) the FBI could get involved

Assuming this is true that cannot be a good sign. JMO it's irresponsible to report that kind of thing until all the facts are gathered.

I hope she gets all the support she needs.

Is the victim from KC? Does there need to be more than one victim from out of state for FBI to be involved?

The policeman in a press conference yesterday said the victim is from "the metro area" but that could include Kansas.

Thank you for the video. I had known that the woman who escaped did so while the accused was dropping off his child at school nearby but didn't have a link.
The tow truck driver indicated that he had towed other vehicles from the residence, possibly of the victim(s)
