Hoping this provides some measure of relief for the families of the victims of the Lockerbie bombing

That cat out lived Studio 54, Mao, Arafat, wow! How many Holiday Inns did he stay at? What a day. Hiding in a hole, begging for his life? Priceless, just priceless. I am sure he is sitting in an inferno w good company.

I congratulate and wish all the best to the Libyan people in their quest for democracy and freedom. Finally the oppressor is 'no longer' in their country. May the force be with them during this time of transition.....

Kudos to Nato and American forces too.

I think I would have preferred if he were taken out the way Osama was, rather than a mob mentality. Either way, he had the blood of all those who were killed under his regime on his hands.

Custer got Siouxed and Gadhafi got Shoed. Fate.

We have a Custer Got Siouxed bumpersticker on our truck; some entrepeneur in Libya should make/sell the Gadhafi Got Shoed one.

i am relieved that he is gone, but have to say, i found the video footage entirely disturbing and one could argue, even irresponsible. nothing about airing it repeatedly does anything at all to serve humanity.

i for one prefer when the president comes out and simply tells me, "the bad guy is dead."

maybe i'm a wuss.....but this was too much. this is the sort of thing that would have haunted me via lost sleep and nightmares as a youngster. i hope the same can't be said for too many children tonight.

I was up late that night, and 'accidentally' saw those images. I wished I hadn't. Between those images and the ones of the dead exotic animals, I thought for sure I would have nightmares all night.

Can someone tell me, why was it OK to show those images, and the ones of Saddam Hussein, but not OK to show a dead Osama Bin Laden???

I'm speculating here, but because the assassination of Bin Laden was an operation by our military, the military controlled the footage. That wasn't the case with Hussein or Gaddafi. It was simply a matter of who had the tape.
