Judge is ready to go into Sunday.

Discussing time: 8:30 or 9:00

Judge wakes up at 5:30 whether he likes it or not.

Court resumes at 9:00a tomorrow morning to continue Frye issues.

Best line IMO:
CM: I was trying to watch this at 30,000 feet and it was pretty jerky.
JA: It was pretty jerky here, too.

This thread was an experiment today for the benefit of those who cannot watch hearings while working, but can only periodically "pop in" for an update.

WS does not want to take away the "casual discussion" during hearings or the upcoming trial, but has received requests from those unable to participate while working, but wanting a quick update.

During this particular hearing, what we did was to COPY pertinent summary posts of "live action in the courtroom" from the "casual hearing thread", in an attempt to see if we can accommodate others.

Would appreciate feedback from those who may have utilized this thread today while working...

Was it helpful? Any suggestions? Or eventual mod nightmare? :floorlaugh:

I do have a suggestion - because those of us who are posters during hearings are still :waitasec: regarding posting during hearings to stay within WS rules.

Perhaps someone could do a high point/no comment summary as the hearing progresses like Flourish has done on the last hearings. Her work was excellent and contained no aside comments, just the facts for anyone to scan who was unable to watch. Just IMO.

Perhaps a selected volunteer or two for each day of hearing for the thread?

Is there a way to keep the thread locked ,with the exception of posters chosen or volunteering to provide summaries? Not me,for sure ,but I know there are times the mods are slammed.
I think everyone will get used to it fairly quickly .
ETA : I meant slammed as in "very busy" not as in criticized

Livelovelaugh did a great summary, Jomo also - maybe they might have the time and be willing? I would offer but I miss too much going back and forth on screens.

Agree Darnudes and ThinkTank does a great summary also. I could not do it because I would be unable to be completely unbiased...

(Now where is that "hint hint" icon?? :waitasec:)

I love the summary type threads...I usually am able to watch and work...but not all the time.
Thanks to all.

ETA: I am already worried about the trial. I don't think I will be able to live stream all day, every day....so what kind of suggestions from anybody else with the same problem? I am thinking up upgrading my phone to a smart phone....can you live stream on those if you have an unlimited media package? I guess the only other alternative is to watch the hearings at night in rerun form....:(

I think this thread was perfect! For the "just the facts" down and dirty events of the hearing, while keeping the regular threads open for everyone's comment. I especially loved how Mods copied the pertinent posts and there were a number of people posting - just for verification of what each original poster thought they heard. This is the perfect solution for the upcoming hearings and trial. Thank You MODS - You Rock!!!

If what the mods are suggesting is to allow the main thread for the hearing, to go as it does(TOS)engaged of course. Then the mods will find the posts from that thread that give the information needed and move them here...

If I hear you right that is imho an excellent idea. Many people post great posts during that time the thread is flying and if the mods can move those posts for people who come later, again I think that is an excellent idea. If I have got you all wrong...delete my post please! :blowkiss:

Aww, sweet Kentjbkent - cheers :)

If you want a disjointed summary replete with snark but a dearth of actual content, then I'm your gal. :)
I'm usually always around for the hearings and would be happy to add to a read only thread, not confident that I would do a good job though.

I liked it very much! I'm at werk and now I know I didn't miss much.

My only concern is that it will be a lot of werk for the mods, but if they don't mind doing it, then no worries.

Loved it - I'm on the West Coast so I logged in and quickly got up to speed on what happened! Thanks everyone.

Makes it so easy to follow what happened. Not that I don't enjoy the many comments, but they make for such a long thread. This was quick and easy.

Thanks,

Thanks,

I totally agree with this! Much easier for those of us who have to pop in and out.

I think this is a great idea! I can't tell you how much it will be appreciated by those of us who can only "duck in" and "duck back out". Very generous offer. Thank you!!!
