A court ordered an Australian mother Wednesday to stop breastfeeding her six-year-old son.

A custody hearing in Melbourne was told the woman had encouraged the little boy to breastfeed when he visited her last year

I am 100% in support of breast feeding of infants and toddlers. I'm not sure at what point the line should be drawn, but certainly long before six years old.

There's a video on Youtube of a mother who breast feeds her eight year old. This is a slippery slope. I'm sure it's very comforting for both mother and child. But, what is the magic age breast feeding should stop? It's important to learn other methods of comfort and soothing one self.
