This gives us some outlook on the upcoming trial. Looks grave at best.

What was the 1st judges reasoning for no bond? Thought they all said today NOTHING has changed?

(Sigh.)

(Can you imagine if they take off?)

Soooo....

Who will live in the Caison/Moorer house? Just TM? TM and kids? SM too or will he be off to live in grandma's vacant house in another county?

Will they fight over custody of the kids?

This. What happens with the children? SM attorney said he would take the kids to Dorchester county, has a home, a job, will enroll kids in school...I guess the Moorers will have to go before a family court for a placement and those can be long drawn out affairs. IMO the kids are in danger anywhere near TM/SM. People do not change and all the evil that existed still exists, if not more, in those two and the potential for it to come to a further and equally dangerous situation exist now. IMO.

I think the original bond was based on DNA evidence in SM's truck. Now the State has admitted that the DNA evidence was an error. JMO

Hopefully, TM will mess up and run her mouth. She couldn't even keep her trap shut at the hearing. Pour her some wine and hope she blabs!

With no direct evidence that a murder even occurred, why didn't their attorneys argue for a reduction or complete drop in charges?

Seriously, how/why did LE state that HE was Murdered at PTL? I thought they had to have some kind of crazy evidence to prove that. What made them say PTL specifically rather than just "murdered". It could have been done anywhere. Ughhh I would have bet they had evidence on that. This sucks

I'm totally shocked, too.

Do you think this will result in the drop of the gag order? I mean, it doesn't appear to be protecting any evidence.

I'm very disappointed by today's hearing. Not so much about them getting bond, but more so about LE's handling of this case. It's very obvious these arrests were rushed and not based on anything that can get a conviction.

I'll go ahead and say it. I think they're going to walk.

I have never thought that LE had what is said it had. I think they have a wealth of circumstantial evidence and that's it. I realize that can be sufficient to make a case and yield a conviction, and that a body isn't necessary for a conviction. But in this case, I think LE got ahead of itself and declared what it cannot fully prove.

Good question. Wonder why the judge just dismiss it all....him being so nice and all. (Sarcastically said)

Direct evidence according to legal definition:

- eye witness to the crime
- confession by the perps
- video of the crime being committed

Everything else by legal definition is "circumstantial evidence" believe it or not.

That includes:

- blood
- hair
- fibers
- footprints
- fingerprints

etc, etc, etc.

Bumping up Madeline74's post re: Direct evidence vs circumstantial evidence.

Its no wonder this area has such a high crime rate & that armed robberies are currently happening on pretty much a daily basis. Our LE is so incompetent that they couldn't solve a crime if their life depended on it. So why should criminals around here ever worry about being caught? Ughhhh. I'm so annoyed that the state literally has NOTHING... yet they have been acting all hush hush... with their sealed motions and gag order requests... like they've got a bomb waiting to drop! Unfortunately, I have no faith in justice being served.

Seems like the gag order and dragging the feet of the discovery was the states way of giving the cops more time to come up with SOMETHING. Well guess what. They didn't. So disappointing...I can't imagine what the Elvis family is feeling. I wonder if they were told before this bond hearing that the evidence was a mistake??

I totally agree. There will not be a conviction. I also hope the gag order is lifted and maybe LE will explain themselves! Not likely, but this is just so shocking that they basically have nothing.
