Good thing is, a jury hasn't even been picked and probably won't until next year sometime. All of the this aunt said this, uncle, cousin junk or this supporter did this will be yesterdays news. Test TM now for a pregnancy. Get it over with one way or the other. If she is, I feel for her mom or whoever is taking care of all the kids. If not, I still feel for all of them. Everyone has a loud mouth or two, in a family somewhere...could all of the family be the same as we have seen TM to be? jmo

The only people Tammy has to convince are the jury. Bringing up crazy scenarios in the trial worked for Casey Anthony. I wonder if the hearing is sort of a preview of what the trial is going to be like.

Right, but you can only discredit yourself so much and waste the courts and Judges and/or jury's time before it will affect your case. She's lucky the judge is allowing future reconsideration if absolute proof of the pregnancy is on the table. He could have easily (and rightfully so) been irritated by her coming to a bond reconsideration due to pregnancy and having no proof of pregnancy and not cooperating for further testing to actually show proof... along with interrupting him while speaking multiple times.

Personally, if I was the judge, if you requested a reconsideration for bond and you show up to court with no proof and not cooperating to gain proof.. along with interrupting me while speaking.. there would be no future reconsideration's.

If she pulls another stunt like this, whose to say he won't deny the right for anymore future reconsideration's or hearings. These antics in the long run could become extremely detrimental to her case and only build onto her odds against ever seeing the outside of prison walls again. :please:

If it comes down to it that she lived in a filthy house per LE statements in MSM. Jail might be better for her & the medical care, if needed. Each pregnancy is different, I can attest too for sure and endless articles read. Test her again and again if needed. Doesn't make her special. Just an over 40 woman who hasn't taken care of her body that needs monitored or a woman already starting menopause possibly. jmo

Jail is jail. In and out. Revolving doors. If you stay long enough to complain about it, well...that's been done now too. I see no position won by the defence during this gag order other than that attorney for TM, possibly breaking the law and gag order.

jmo

I bet it comes down to the judge slapping his wrist is all. It might have been in the courthouse but he said it to the news. jmo

That doesn't give the family a breezeway, to continue, it's absolutley wild crazy with this shooting at vehicles, etc..that I feel is family related. Hope they get that under control soon and the disruptions in court too over pregnancy or not, asap. jmo

In court TM's attorney was allowed to present her pregnancy. FGS. TEST HER & announce the results, it's so half azz it's po me off. It's a missing person, Heather Elvis, it's not this dizzy queen in court. jmo

I agree, I think Tammy and the rest of the Caison Clan sincerely thought her plan was going to work and that she would be released on bond. I think they also thought that they could play the sympathy card on the judge and public and sway the public's view of her. One word... delusional. :floorlaugh:

So delusional that actually thought that going to a bond reconsideration with no concrete proof of the pregnancy and inconsistencies in the tests along with refusal of prenatal care and further testing would actually make her look good in their minds. Instead, it backfired and everyone is now questioning her already questionable credibility.

Also, I think it could backfire even further if they keep pulling stunts like this, not only will it lessen her credibility even more (if that's even possible) but also the courts and judge will end up getting fed up with her antics and not take her seriously. :denied:

BBM

What I don't understand is why TM and her attorney were even entertaining the notion that pregnancy (even with positive tests and all!) would get her out of jail? She is an accused MURDERER, for pete's sake!

I don't see the crazy scenario things working for TM- different personality styles in these 2 women - one no more or less disturbed than the other- but they present differently because they are different. While antics by TM and her lawyer may be entertaining, interesting, absurd, or however people find them, I don't think it will work in defense favor.

I think one thing that could work in TM's favor is that she wasn't the one who called Heather that night, and if, the video only shows the truck, but not clear who is in it. If TM was lying in the back seat, and I really doubt the video is that clear, the lawyer could say, look, she isn't there.

The house has multiple buildings, right? So they could say SM took Heather somewhere, and they don't know what happened. If the kids slept through everything, why couldn't TM? Unless they have evidence like Heather's blood mixed with TM's, I wonder if this defense could work?

Her lawyer said that no forensic evidence was found in TM's truck, so it sound s to me, like they might pin it all on Sidney.

I doubt that she's pregnant. But if she is, so what? Sometimes inmates are pregnant.

But scraping away the pregnancy antics, if her lawyer thought he had a case she should not be held on the charges, he would aggressively advance that evidence or legal standing to compel her release. And he would have done so before now.

This is all theater. While I do think LE is working on theory as well as circumstantial evidence, the defense argument that 'she's pregnant...and besides, she didn't do it either' is a feeble effort. Clearly the court wasn't interested in entertaining that argument.

Nothing of consequence is going to happen in this case until trial, unless SM decides to sing. JMO

Now that I've had a couple of days to think about this, I still can't figure how TM's attorney could've possibly imagined that this alleged pregnancy was the best argument to spring his client from jail.

It would've been much smarter to plead hardship in this case. Recently widowed mother, struggling to care for TM's younger family members, desperately needs TM's help. And yet, that was not the avenue chosen.

TM is accustomed to getting her way; perhaps she steamrollered him into presenting her argument HER WAY. The bond hearing was a complete farce and that attorney emerged from the courtroom with egg all over his face. He knew better, or should have known better, and yet he went along with it.

Granted, there is that 8-page document that he submitted to the court, and there's no telling what's in that. Is there something he wanted to put out there in the court of public opinion, but the plan went awry?

Either he had an ulterior motive going into that hearing and it didn't work out, or he's very easily manipulated. I'm just not sure which.

So what's next for the case? Do they have any hearings scheduled?

McCollum also said there is no evidence against Moorer and police were under public pressure to make an arrest, so they took them into custody with the hopes an incriminating statement would be made by one of them. He said the couple had cooperated with police from the start of the investigation.

“There is no evidence at all to link Tammy Moorer to the possible disappearance or death of Heather Elvis,” McCollum said. “She’s innocent, not just presumed innocent, but innocent.”

McCollum said Moorer is seeking a trial in the case.

But Elder said the guilt or innocence doesn’t impact Moorer’s right to a bond and possible release until the trial.

“This is not a case where law enforcement rushed to make an arrest,” Elder said. “Contrary to public pressure . . . they arrested them over two months later after a full investigation.”

"The evidence that we presented in court is that she's been examined at two different hospitals by two different doctors by two different medical staffs and they both say that she's pregnant and we believe that to be true," said McCollum. "She's had some problems that we presented in court and that was our concern and we were very hopeful that based on that and the other things we presented that the judge would modify the conditions."

Judge John said Moorer is to be treated as though she has a viable pregnancy, and be allowed access to all necessary care. Any time she refuses care, it should be noted, John added.

McCollum said at this time they do not have a plan to file another bond modification motion.

Horry County Solicitor Jimmy Richardson said he expects the case to go to trial in about a year.

BBM This is exactly what I think happened. TM will continue to push her attorney beyond what is logical and prudent. When none of her ploys are effective she will go to plan B and delay things by claiming attorney incompetence (or use the argument to file an appeal if convicted).

This case is so huge and I feel so lost.

Is there an up to date cliff notes version of what the known facts are? I had no idea Tammy is pregnant!

Really nothing much has happened that I can discern besides Tammy claiming to be pregnant. Her lawyer said it was confirmed at two different hospitals but other information suggests she may not be pregnant (hormone levels, I believe) and she refuses pre-natal vitamins or care. On DISboards she had suggested in the past that pre-natal vitamins caused her to bleed and she had had a couple miscarriages so she felt they were responsible.

Sooooo...the judge denied bond but stated that she will be treated as if she is pregnant. And he wants it documented every time she refuses treatment.

I think that's about as much as I've gotten out of it. Oh, and she tried to talk to the judge, and interrupted him, so he gave her a "time out" to speak with her lawyer rather than allow her to talk. And her aunt got a little rowdy in and out of the courtroom. And another man was pointing up and making remarks (I believe he was sitting on the Elvis side) and I believe he was escorted out.

After John left the courtroom, Moorer’s mother openly sobbed while another family member loudly spoke of her disapproval of the ruling. Horry County Sheriff deputies quieted the family and removed a man from the audience after he made a remark to the family.

A few minutes later in the parking lot, there was a report of a confrontation, but deputies found the same family member yelling about her purse being in the trunk of a vehicle. Deputies stood watch until family members of Moorer and Heather Elvis left the parking lot.

Neither family made a public comment about Friday’s hearing.

During the hearing, McCollum said Moorer has been under stress in jail because of the death of her father and she was taken to a hospital and learned she was pregnant. McCollum said Moorer and her husband were trying to get pregnant before they were arrested in February.

Perhaps the hearing was a delay tactic. The defense might want the trial to not start for years so people forget, memories fade (especially witnesses), emotional impact lessens, etc. I have seen many cases where the defense tries everything to delay the trial, so they must think there is some benefit to it.

Doesn't show a lot of confidence in the client being innocent, does it? Wouldn't an innocent person want to speed up the process in order to get the hell out of jail?

Agree with all of this. Are inmates allowed to request hearings like this whenever they want regardless of what their lawyer says? I can't imagine the attorney would think a pregnancy would be a get out of jail free card, but Tammy probably would think that. She's not that bright. And she's also selfish, so I doubt she'd be really that aware or even care about the hardships for her mother. Her focus is only on herself.

Catching up. Wow. The hearing sounded wild. I would have liked to have been there watching that hearing.

I agree with others that one of those 2 should turn on the other very soon. It almost has to go down that way. Its either that OR they really are innocent in everything and i just cannot see that being the case.
Im quite surprised one of them has not turned on the other by now. Even if both are equally culpable there would be a benefit to try to place more of the blame on one of them. Im surprised SM or TM has not already done this by now. Perhaps one of them has and it is being kept quiet.

The losing of the hearing should be a sign that the court is taking things very seriously and this is no game. There were a lot of games being played before they got arrested and they had better gotten the message by now that games will not be tolerated.

It is pretty obvious TM is not handling jail or the thought of a lengthy prison term very well. She is the one making all the "noise" so far. SM has been pretty quiet so far. Not sure if that is a sign of which one is more guilty or not.
