Now that I've had a couple of days to think about this, I still can't figure how TM's attorney could've possibly imagined that this alleged pregnancy was the best argument to spring his client from jail.
It would've been much smarter to plead hardship in this case. Recently widowed mother, struggling to care for TM's younger family members, desperately needs TM's help. And yet, that was not the avenue chosen.
TM is accustomed to getting her way; perhaps she steamrollered him into presenting her argument HER WAY. The bond hearing was a complete farce and that attorney emerged from the courtroom with egg all over his face. He knew better, or should have known better, and yet he went along with it.
Granted, there is that 8-page document that he submitted to the court, and there's no telling what's in that. Is there something he wanted to put out there in the court of public opinion, but the plan went awry?
Either he had an ulterior motive going into that hearing and it didn't work out, or he's very easily manipulated. I'm just not sure which.
