This poor little lad, Rayan, fell down a well two days ago, rescue ongoing.

Sending well wishes for this little one, Rayan. I’m going to politely pass on this thread for my own good - last time when the kids were stuck in the cave in Thailand I about died from stress, even had chest pains at one point lol. I will look forward to the update that he has been rescued.

Someone needs to invent an expandable or inflatable platform gadget that could be lowered down. Kind of like if you lowered an umbrella on a chain then opened it up once it was beneath the person. I know he’s probably wedged in, but if there was a way of hoisting him up enough to drop the expandable platform past him…

Hopefully they’ll tunnel to him before I need to set off to Morocco with my brolly.

There was a harrowing case in Spain too, little Julen, we had a thread running.

I am more optimistic about this little fella and the rescuers are getting close to him now. Fingers crossed, everyone.

I was wondering about this, but answered:
Rescuers were able to send the child oxygen and water via pipes, and a police helicopter is on standby to evacuate him to a nearby hospital.
A medical team was dispatched to the scene to carry out initial checks and potential resuscitation once the boy is rescued.

Lead rescuer Abdelhabi Temrani told Al Oula television that the diameter of the well was less than 45 centimetres (18 Inches).

They have a camera down there. you can see the little boy moving....at least 4 hours ago. He will be ok, not long now little guy....

I don't know where things stand now. The #SaveRayan has no updates, repeating tweets from hours ago. Nor can I find anything elsewhere, up to the minute.
I do know that the last bit of the digging is the most dangerous, the horizontal digging by hand. The danger is collapse from above.
Poor little boy is squeezed in tight. I so hope he survives this, they are working so hard round the clock.

Morocco well rescue for five-year-old grips nation

After watching the stream I can´t link for hours and trying to understand several languages on the chat I think he is still alive and they are getting closer but the closer they get the more careful they have to be. IMHO

I think with Julen, he survived the initial fall but suffocated when earth fell on top of him during the rescue. They do have to be soooo careful.

Yes I think so too, that is exactly where they are at now and discussing the safest way to insert a tube, they also say that Rayan is eating and drinking, this is sort of hearsay so IMO

Both these harrowing cases, I was compelled to follow, minute by minute, hour by hour.

The rescue of the Thai boys was nothing short of a miracle…so tragic that one cave-diver died in the attempt.

I will be equally compelled to follow this too.

Great thought @CoverMeCagney. Something like an extremely strong balloon-type device, weighted, dropped down below the child, that could then be inflated to lift him out.

I suppose the problem would be getting the device past/below the child who is probably blocking the well.

It’s the stuff of nightmares
