Investigators fear something has happened to a missing Scott County man, but the search continues.

James Randall "Randy" Perkins Jr. was last heard from Feb. 14. He was reported missing nearly a month later.

Scott County Sheriff Mike Lee says deputies are searching for a person of interest in the case, but that person has fled the area to Alabama. Lee says investigators believe something bad has happened to Perkins, but would not elaborate.

Lee says Mississippi Bureau of Investigation agents and U.S. Marshals are also assisting in the investigation.

There is a $2,000 reward for information on Perkins' whereabouts and an arrest related to his disappearance.

Perkins is described as being a white male with a thin to medium build. He is 6' 1" and weighs about 170 pounds, with green/gray eyes and balding brown hair.

A Facebook page has been created by family and friends dedicated to finding information on his whereabouts. If you have any information you're asked to call the Scott County Sheriff's Department at 601-469-1511.

It's interesting that the family criticised LE and the Scott County Sheriff has posted a response (it looks like some other LE have as well).

Mother hopes $55,000 reward will bring son's killer to justice

Different person. Perkins missing from Mississippi is an older man who I can bet you never played the game of lacrosse (we simply don't play that sport here). If I am reading the Facebook page correctly, a memorial service has been held and it appears there has been a conviction in his death. This is fairly close to me.
