<<Taylor left his mother’s house on July 14th, 2020, and told her he would see her later. Later on that day, Taylor was seen at the Plaza Motel on The Island. Sometime in the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m., Taylor spoke with his older brother. This was the last known communication with Taylor prior to his disappearance. He was last seen driving a silver 2011 Ford Fiesta with Mississippi tag LTE 7723. Taylor has not been seen or heard from since.

In May 2021, Joseph Purcell, Alan Farley, Deborah Johnston, and Javaris Johnson were arrested in connection to the murder of Taylor. Neither Taylor nor his vehicle has been recovered at this time.>>

YouTube-renowned diver team looks for missing Columbus man

Chaos Divers Jacob Grubbs and Lindsay Bussick place a remote controlled sonar boat in a pond off Miller Lane in Columbus, searching for the remains of James Ryan Taylor.

Taylor's niece reached out to Chaos Divers in 2021 to help search for him after receiving a tip that her uncle was dragged into a river.
Over the next two years, they visited at least four times and searched bodies of water with sonar including at Lake Lowndes, Officers Lake, the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, the Luxapalila Creek and a pond off Miller Lane in Columbus.
In those efforts, they recovered two vehicles, but neither were related to Taylor or his disappearance.

The family is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to the recovery of his remains.
