Jarrel Ward, 24, was last seen Thursday morning . Family members reported to police that Ward was last seen wearing a white Nike t-shirt and dark blue jeans with red and white Jordans.

"The body of a man reported missing over the weekend in the Golden Triangle has been found. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant confirms the body of Jerrel Ward, 24, of Starkville was found last night."

SHERIFF: PERSON OF INTEREST IN CUSTODY, NO CHARGES YET IN MISSING MAN'S DEATH

Arledge says Joshua Murry is currenlty being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center as a person of interest in the case.

He said Murry had charges from an unrelated case but would not specify what those charges may be.

The jail docket says he is being held for contempt of court.

Arledge says they have met with the Columbus and Starkville Police Departments and the District Attorney and evidence collected is being handed over to the Lowndes County sheriff's department.
