MS MS - Jarrod Johnston, 18, Yazoo City, 7 July 2007

I wanted to come by to bump this for Jarrod. It's his birthday this month on the 21st and he will be turning 31. I'm currently working on trying to bring media attention to Jarrod's case. If you are interested in helping please let me know. You can comment or PM. I would love the help from anyone who still cares about this special young man and wants him found.

I find it strange that his missing persons flyer didn't mention he had bipolar disorder. Shouldn't that be something very important to inform the public about?

Wondering if somebody ever found his guitar and never reported it to LE...

On all his MP sites there's no mention of his mental health and drug problems that were portayed on Disappeared. He would have turned 25 y/o in August, I do hope that he is still out there even though I think a suicide could be highly likely.

I don't think he willingly is based off what was shown in the Disappeared episode. It seemed like he was loved by his family. His sister mentioned him leaving a few times for a couple of days but always returning home. I also can't imagine him not contacting his father after what he went through with losing his sister years ago.

Would love to hear everyone's opinion on whether they think it is likely that Jarrod has stayed away willingly this long.

I have a hard time believing so in 99.9% of missing persons cases. I usually believe the missing person has met with foul play or even accidental death. But of course, There are those rare cases in which the missing person simply chose never to return or make contact with their family.

Watching Jarrod’s disappeared episode. I was hoping there would be a breakthrough by now. It is very sad Jarrod’s Dad died without knowing where his son was. It is tragic his Dad’s Sister was murdered.

This is so heartbreaking about his Dad dying, and without any answers. It's tragic. I can't even imagine the pain these families go through. I hope Jarrod is found soon.

I just posted this in another forum but realized I should have posted it here. In the Disappeared episode, they mention a woman and her brother who found a guy around slumped over a guard rail in Atlanta. He looked just like Jarrod down to the same scars and same capped tooth. He was found passed out, malnourished and very skinny on a highway. He said he had been hit by a car in a hit and run accident and that his name was Samuel Alexivus, but gave 3 different spellings of the name and only remembered a few details about his life. He said he was a victim of hit and run and didn't seem to remember anything about his life. He played lots of guitar while staying with the couple for 8 weeks, and spoke about canning tomatoes (which Jarrod had done extensively with his stepmom). His distinctive laugh apparently was similar too. However, he had gone missing after 8 weeks himself and the woman who had been helping him for 8 weeks had been looking for him for months.

Eventually they matched him to a mug shot and then compared fingerprints and they were not a match. Later apparently they found "Samuel" and he was safe but as far as I know Jarrod's family never met him. The lead was abandoned once the fingerprints came back negative. To me, I would want to investigate this "Samuel" individual more in depth. Where is he now and would he be willing to submit to a DNA test? It IS possible to burn off your fingerprints. I wouldn't use fingerprints as the sole method for ruling out a match considering all the other similarities.

Signed up just to make comment about Jarrod... didn't Samuel in the Disappeared episode look so much like him... I hardly believed the fingerprints! And his father is gone now... how sad is that..

His case strangely reminds me of Charlie Allen aka Neo Maximus... who went missing in October of 2007... they both were bipolar... and both probably no longer taking meds. A good chance both are still alive... but it's possible neither have good enough memories to lead them back home...

And something truly creepy about each case... Samuel in the case of Jarrod... and that knock @ 4 am in the morning on the door to Steven Kelly's house in New Bedford 2009 not far from Dartmouth asking directions to SMU... the old name for the Univ of Dartmouth... last used like 20 years before when the name changed... very weird stuff!!!

Oh per Steven that visitor didn't stay long... but looked like Charlie!!!!

I'm re-watching the Disappeared episode and my heart goes out to his loved ones, former girlfriend Kacie, mom Lisa, stepsister Brittany. Seems he has an uncle and other siblings, cousins. So disheartening father died. Pray Jarrod is found safe somehow. The risk of substance abuse history and possible bipolar condition makes his risk higher, but not impossible. He could be among the homeless, making his way without need for identification somehow. I wonder what more Yazoo County MS or family could've done. People do need to move on in their lives but what heartache especially for his mother and previously for grandma, with whom he previously argued. The not-knowing limbo has to be the worst.

Just happened to watch Jarrod’s episode of Disappeared. There is surprisingly very, very little information online and on social media. How sad that it has been so long and there is so very little information available.

I have not really been able to find any information regarding what the investigation into his disappearance consisted of. Were there searches done to recover a body? Or was the belief that he walked away voluntarily so they weren’t done? I really don’t have the information to either decide one way or the other. Is there a way to request an age progression photo?

I pray for his safe return and his families closure.

I watched the Disappeared episode and it seems his mental health problems as well as his past drug use most likely played a large part in his continued disappearance. My thinking if he is still alive; and I think there is a decent chance he is; he is among the homeless population somewhere. He may not even know who he is at this point. I think in general many of the missing are living out there homeless. Maybe they think there is no point in going back; their family is angry with them and don't want them back. Maybe they are ashamed of something they did or sadly they don't even know who they are anymore.
Jarrod could be out there somewhere living on the streets of some city. We just don't know.

Jarrod is still missing
