The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in the missing person investigation of Jasmine Javonna Purvis. The disappearance of Jasmine Javonna Purvis has received very little media attention. Jasmine is the witness to a murder that vanished just weeks after the homicide.
On December 3, 2020, Jasmine Purvis called her grandfather and asked him to pick her up. According to Namus, 29-year-old Jasmine called her grandfather several times and asked him to hurry. Namus reports Jasmine begged her grandfather for over 15 minutes to pick her up. When her grandfather arrived at the Carnation Street location, her boyfriend told him she had found another ride, and Jasmine had already left, reports Namus. Jasmine reportedly left the residence in the 1100 block of Carnation Street in Jackson, Mississippi with an unknown male in a dark blue Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. Her family and friends attempted to contact Jasmine, but calls to her cell phone went unanswered. Eventually, her cell phone was turned off. Her family reported Jasmine missing on December 5, 2020.
Just weeks before she vanished, Jasmine witnessed the murder of her friend. According to Namus, the vehicle that picked Jasmine up from Carnation Street is the same vehicle seen leaving the murder scene weeks earlier. Jasmin Javonna Purvis has never been seen or heard from again.
Authorities have not named any suspects in the disappearance of Jasmine. Authorities said there has been very little progress in the investigation of her disappearance, and they are asking for help from the public on the case, reports WAPT.
Jasmine Javonna Purvis was 5'5" and weighed 185 pounds when she vanished.
