(modsnip) Honey; Sell everything because we are moving the kids out of this place. The government should give grants to people who want to get far away from there. Lol. Btw: These baby gangstas or their parents have fled the inner city life to escape the killings; But it seems they brought that mentality to this small town. Its time parents take their kids and move. Because your 3rd grade kid will want to soon hang with these sorts. So don't blame your kid for being in a gang; If you did nothing to move them away from this atmosphere.

The unfortunate thing Dexter, it doesn't matter how far you go. The days are gone when living in a rural area excludes you from gang violence. Small towns like this are prime real estate for big city gangs looking to expand. LE doesn't have the resources to compensate. I'm not in MS by any measure, but I can tell you, my sleepy little rural town has more than it's share of ugly when you start peeling the layers back.

There is nowhere left to move.

I feel I was just born with the ability to read people and study their body language. I was a identity fraud detector for the state I live in for many years. I always knew a lie, immediately. When I came in contact with some people I would start shaking inside and know they were Very bad people. Over the thousands of people I had arrested in 30 years, three were murderers. I also trained people to read body language, it's a very interesting thing. I love following the cases on this site.

I know exactly, EXACTLY that feeling of shaking when you are around very bad people. But it's your keen instincts that kept you alive and safe all those amazing years! I also believe that some people give off bad chemistry and energy and we pick up on that just like a radio receiver. You obviously were born with this ability, after all you sough that type of work! Thank you so much for sharing this.

Jessica looked like the prettiest girl in the whole town. Why was she hanging with those natives. This has jealousy written all over it.

i didnt know jessica moved there, what age was she? come to think of it, how do you know the birthplace of any of the people she hung around with?

Ever since reading jaimiefind's post with the maps, the layout, between Batesville, and Highway 55, the most recent link post up thread by SStarr33, makes me wonder about a scenario of a turf war and Jessica Chambers as a pawn to bring on the heat, but then again that may involve a large numbers of people saying nothing. Would fear alone explain that?

Yes, I agree. She kind of looks like a heroin addict to me with that hoodie on (although the drug is probably not heroin).

I think it's not *just* heroin. mix in some meth.

we are all born with it. it is drilled out of most of us, sent into the unconscious.

Exactly. I would hope if she named the assailant or assailants, they would have been arrested by now. But, then again, LE could be building a case.

I think she did name them. and they were held as long as possible. not enough evidence to arrest and convict yet.

Just my 2 cents and insight into the behavior displayed in the GM/R/DT interview. One word comes clearly to mind - grooming. Whether intentional or not, those that have a history of behavior such as GM tend to entice, manipulate, and exploit vulnerability. I do not know R/DT personally, but my guess would be she didn't come from a stable home life. Someone with low self-esteem (no matter how much bravado they display) is very vulnerable to predators. I spent my teens/early 20's in an area much like Courtland, MS (about 3 hours south west). Due to "life happens" circumstances, as an adolescent I went from upper middle class military officer's daughter to living in the projects to very poor, pretty much overnight. That does a number on a young girl. Money, finding favor with someone in a higher position in the cultural/social hierarchy (for protection, credibility, sense of security), sense of acceptance, and stability are very alluring especially if they don't get those things at home. While all those things may be offered by the "higher up", once one aligns themselves with that ilk, oft times it's too late for the vulnerable party to just exit stage left, kwim? They now perceive/have seen/experienced the dangerous side of this person(s). However feel limited in their ability to escape that way of life, (i.e., learned helplessness). While behavior displayed by R/DT may seem paradoxical or contradictory, it makes absolute sense to me on a self-preservation level. If you knew someone you were dependent upon (for whatever reason) had the means to harm you, would you not have that person’s back both verbally/physically? By her “speaking out” it shows loyalty, which is beneficial, unless it’s against someone on the inside. IF JC was trying to leave this type of situation while remaining in close proximity, well…to me, that takes an incredible amount of courage. Again, like everything else this is purely in my opinion, although much of it is based upon personal experience and statistical studies/data.

Hopefully this made some kind of sense. I’ve been watching/re-watching so many of these related videos and news stories, I’m a bit loopy. lol

As we all know LE has mentioned to be observant of people who 'possibly' could have singed eyebrows or possibly hair. This is something I have been thinking on. My idea alone. But,a hoodie is almost a uniform among many young people. It could also 'serve' a duel purpose to cover 'something' that would draw attention to a blotched hair cut. This my observation only & again I am being vigilant in my of observations of video and photos. Remember this is my thinking on 'anyone' who had contact with Jessica in the last days before her murder. No accusations on my part. MOO

Fear of Gangs, Retaliation Could Delay Justice for Jessica

http://www.newsms.fm/fear-gangs-retaliation-delay-justice-jessica/

Gray said gangs recruit children as young as 11-years-old and once involved, there is often no way out. “Some of their bi-laws and constitution that we have intercepted stated it is for life and the only way out is by death.”

I have read they recruit as young as 5. that breaks my heart. My DD is 5. These poor kids are totally traumatized from such a young age. and it turns into more danger and deadliness. the gang members' own kids are growing up in families that are tied to gangs. these kids have no chance and no choice as they are literally born into it. they should be removed and adopted out through a protection program.

Iam sorry. I should have said. Why was a VERY PRETTY girl like Jessica, hanging out with the thugish locals? Her murder has jealousy written all over it.

I would like to add that it would be near impossible to leave that area if you've become addicted to heroin, crack, or meth, IMO.
They are such hard street drugs....so very hard to get clean from & stay clean!

This post is just general & is not directed at any poster or anyone surrounding the JC case.

the recent article mentions a turf war and that the gangs are killing each other every chance they get. I don't feel like this is related to a turf war. I think it's much more personal. But it could be a factor.

I kind of think it is both. I think it is very personal, and may involve jealous females who went way too far. But I think the environment, the violent turf wars, make it easier for things to go over the top. JMO

I would say, even if it is unrelated.

I don't think so, Jessica wasn't directly connected, or "property" in any source I can find MSM or otherwise. There are at least two separate gang related shootings that I can find, I don't think anyone there is afraid of taking deliberate and direct action. Personally, I'm pretty damned certain that large numbers of people are saying nothing. That whole code of silence thing is taken pretty seriously in some social circles.

It seems that some guys like getting females to smoke the hard drugs because this helps ensure that the female will soon sell her body to get high. Now the less attractive guys use this to their advantage on strung out nice looking females that would have never giving some of these guys the time nor day. So Sad.

I think all the females knew that their guys would date JC; if given the chance; So most of them will not talk because they was jealous of her to begin with. Poor JC didn't realize that she was probably hated by most of the gangsta girls and was also constantly being set up to be sexual prey when her boyfriend wasn't around. So sad.

From the article at: http://www.newsms.fm/fear-gangs-retaliation-delay-justice-jessica/#sthash.sdlWsS4x.dpuf

“It’s very possible the criminal element has such a strangle hold, if you will, that people are fearful to talk,” said Herold Gray with the Madison and Rankin Counties District Attorney office. “There is significant gang presence, statewide, particularly in that area. Whether not its part of this case remains to be seen.”

Gray said most gang activity in the Panola County area involves Gangsters Disciples and the Mafia Insane Vice Lords. “They are killing each other every chance they get.” The battle between them, according to Gray is basically over turf, which leads to the ability to commit crimes for profit.

If anyone suspected, questioned, or known to be involved with Jessica's death is a member of either of these gangs, then the silence is unsurprising. Even if Jessica herself was not a member of a gang, it sounds like it's nearly impossible that she hadn't interacted with members of them in a town that small.

BBM. That just can't be, GD and VL in Courtland? Just ask any of the locals, there aren't any gangs in Courtland. ;)
