DNA usually doesn't survive a very intense fire. For instance cremation so experts say. Depending on where dna/other genetic material/prints are left on a vehicle it is possible for some to survive.
:moo:
I thought someone mentioned earlier a case where fire actually preserved semen? Anyone recall?
The date on the top of the page shows January 6. It does appear to be something that is old due to it mentioning funeral arrangements. I am assuming that it is an older article that was updated, but I am not certain. I sent an email to the publisher, who's name is also linked to this article a few minutes ago. I asked if he could clarify on whether or not this is an article that has been recently updated. If I get a response from him, I will post it.
Or, she did not really say anything, and "eric" was SAID to be a name that she gurgled, precisely BECAUSE it is such a generic (pardon the pun) name..... all of the names ending in"eric(K) so, far, that we have seen belong to black locals. It can never be proven that she did NOT speak, but, if she did, it was only Cole Hayley who heard her, as far as we know. JMO
Jumping off of your post here, do you think raped, beaten, knocked unconscious and then driven to Herron Rd? Is that your line of thinking? Then start the fire and leave her for dead with the hopes of destroying evidence in the process?I believe she said something that sounded like Eric. The one Eric they interviewed on TV said LE hunted him down by calling his mother and I think his grandmother...immediately after they found her. And they went looking for him because "someone" told LE he was the only Eric they knew.and he didn't live far from the crime scene...or shall I say, the "second crime scene" because I believe something happened to her before ending up where she did.
JMO though
Very early on, there was a MMS that referenced the owner of Alsanai's convenience store/gas station also owning commercial property in Batesville. Does anyone remember this and know the address? I do remember at the time thinking that building could be used as warehouse/storage for goods sold at Alsanai's convenience store. I am wondering about its location in reference to the 203 Pearson carwash.
Found another gas station that is strikingly similar to M&M First Stop. If you didn't know any better, you would think they were owned by the same person.
Not alluding to any connection. Just found it interesting while surfing Google Maps and its location in regards to GM.

It seems to me that she could not have been afraid of where she was going after buying gas, or she wouldn't have gone there. I think that she was lured to someplace where someone she wanted to see was. I think that she was lured by the prospect of seeing someone. WHO? Was it someone who was out of jail for the weekend? A new relationship? An old relationship?.... If it was unfinished business from what she had been up to prior to her Christian retreat hiatus, it is likely that it was not GOOD business. If it was to settle a dispute, she would have known that she was in danger. What was she planning to do or see that diverted her from her plan? Or was the plan just to divert her mother from thinking anything nefarious was going on? 20 minutes is a long time to talk to Mom, if she had just left the house and was returning in an hour or so. I think there may have been a bit of an argument between them, in that 20 minute call. JMO
MDOC collects DNA of inmates who committed violent felonies. Can fingerprints and/or DNA survive a fire?

If that is along the lines of what you are thinking...how many perp(s) do you think are involved and where do you think crime scene #1 is? I'm asking because it is actually a theory I have considered quite a bit. I thought maybe crime scene #1 could possibly be farther down Herron not far from where she was found.
Lord knows I hope they did...I don't see why there couldn't be recoverable DNA from a rape kit.

Hays Street to Pearson Street is right around the corner:
That's a missing person case and my point remains the same. Good luck persuading a jury that the husband helped his jealous wife kill his current lover. We've seen cases where husband and wives together have killed past lovers but I'm not aware of any case where the target is the current lover. If somebody could enlighten me, I'd appreciate it.
I know there are cases where couples, usually women manipulated by men, will seek out a third partner (female) for the man to rape, and then they kill her together. But that's a specific scenario which is limited by time. usually a day or two. i suppose something like that could have happened here over a longer period of time? the gf/wife allows the man a sex toy, then they plot to kill her off together - it's like bonding for crazies.

There might have been a carwash at 204 Pearson at one time, but if so, it is not there now. It is an empty lot with some concrete pads and a decaying sign.
