I've felt from the beginning he would never be convicted in Mississippi (wish I were wrong) so might as well send him to Louisiana and hope for the best there.

Praying for justice for Jessica. This is such a horrific and heartbreaking case. I have been catching up on all the tweets and news from the case, thank you for all of you posting all those.

I have been reading but not following as closely as some of you - did they ever state a motive or what is the theory on that?

Rebuffed sexual advances.

Defense story Darla Palmer just arrived at courthouse. She had not been here this AM. Co-counsel Alton Peterson was here with Tellis. #JessicaChambers @memphisnews @clarionledger

#JessicaChambers - We're told the person who took the photo of the jury is a female family member of #QuintonTellis

The announcement from the jury came after 7 hours of deliberations #JessicaChambers@JBroachWMC

Oh man. What is wrong with some people?! Argh

What do you mean?

I took the posted photo of the jury as intimidation. Their identities are supposed to be protected for a reason. Some jurors may be afraid to vote guilty if they think a murderer's family and friends will know who they are and that they're responsible for a prison sentence.

Going back to the first trial....

In 2017, the first trial of Quinton Tellis resulted in a mistrial. The first time the jury told the court they couldn't reach a verdict, the count was 7-5 in favor of the prosecution. When court was adjourned, the jury was 9-3 in favor of the prosecution.

Do you think a mistrial should be declared because of it?

PLEASE LORD LET THERE BE JUSTICE FOR JESSICA. I’m assuming if they’re deadlocked, there’s no trying again? I wonder if one of the jury members knows QT or his family somehow.

Can a judge set aside a verdict or a hung jury and find a defendant guilty??

They have also seen the outbursts in court and removals.

Unfortunately not, in a jury trial only the jury can find the defendant guilty.

At the start of court Monday morning, the judge made an announcement saying that someone had snuck a phone into the courtroom in Batesville and snapped a picture of the jury.

The judge was livid while speaking to those present.

“Direct violation of my court order. That person will be arrested and that person will face the maximum penalty that I am capable of inflicting. Now, fair warning: you get caught you’re going to do the time. Got it?”

WREG’s Bridget Chapman has learned the person who posted the photo has been identified and is reportedly on the way to turn herself in.

Glad I'm not a believer in ghosts etc - can you imagine your own misunderstood words being used to free your killer. It gives me a cold chill.

Can't say I'm surprised. "The Eric thing" is HUGE reasonable doubt. I get it. I would vote guilty but I have a degree in psychology and my masters in Social Work and I know how the brain can trick us into thinking we hear/see things we don't. Witness testimony is pretty inaccurate actually. Tie in the trauma and shock of the first responders... they can't be completed listened to.. at no fault of their own. I'm not blaming them at all.
