Jimmie "Jay" Lee murder: Judge declares mistrial in Sheldon Herrington case with jury hung
A jury was deadlocked in the Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr., murder trial Wednesday. They could not reach a decision in the death of Jimmie Jay Lee.www.clarionledger.com
I hope so! Who else could be responsible for Jay's disappearance?Devastating.
Hopefully they will try the case again.
I feel like that is the case.Does it seem to everyone that the jury didn't deliberate that long? Was the 1 juror just dead set on not guilty and that was it?
In a murder trial in California ongoing (the victim is Bob Lee) the jury has been deliberating for 6 days!
I guess if someone says - there's absolutely no way I will change my mind no matter what, then what can anyone else do?I feel like that is the case.
That one juror had their mind made up.
The first question came like an hour into deliberations which hardly gave time to even read the charges and start a discussion.

I was just reading this online and came to the thread to check what this really means, how on Earth can a mistrial be declared on this when this case is crystal clear in terms of motive and modus operandi? This creature did not want others to know he is gay and he thought killing Jay Lee was the right thing to do to hide that. I don't understand how a unanimous verdict could not be reached on this. Surreal.Devastating.
Hopefully they will try the case again.
I have followed this case from the beginning and I honestly cannot believe it was a hung jury. I have a question to pose - does anyone think Herrington's family knew something? Where in the world is the body?
I've been on a jury where this happened. No amount of anything was going to change the one juror's mind. He ignored all of the rules of law.I feel like that is the case.
That one juror had their mind made up.
