Judge: Herrington to face new charge
The man accused of killing Ole Miss student Jay Lee is being charged with another crime, according to a judge.

To all the people that cant fathom a 10 year old could not commit murder.

This wasn’t a case I was familiar with but after seeing his picture on page 1 I couldn’t help but read the whole thread - what a lovely person he seemed.
The case presented in court I thought was bound to get a conviction - I can’t believe 1 person on that jury truly believed that Harrington was not guilty of murder (due to the short Jury discussion time I’m guessing he/she was adamant they wouldn’t change their mind)
If I was LE I’d be looking closely at that jury member was there any unknown links to the family or family friends - I just can’t see how any ‘neutral’ person could find him not guilty.
Hopefully now the body has been found they’ll get more evidence to secure the conviction.

Ole Miss student’s accused killer indicted again, returned to jail
Once again, a grand jury indicted Timothy Herrington for the murder of Jimmie 'Jay' Lee, but this time they handed him an additional charge as well.
TH is in jail until bond hearing next week on 2/21.
Jay Lee's celebration of life will be held on Saturday in Ridgeland, MS.
I am so happy that he is not out walking free while the family mourns and celebrates him this weekend.

So, I would also take from this that, evidence has been gathered and a forensic anthropologist has examined his remains since they have been released to his family.
Which is astonishingly fast but I'm sure the Chief wanted him back with them as soon as possible..
Makes me believe the team gave it top priority which is great.

Earlier this month, a new bond hearing was set for Sheldon Timothy Herrington Jr. was scheduled for this Friday; however, according to court officials, that hearing will now be held at 10 a.m. on Feb. 27 in Oxford.
Herrington was arraigned on the new charge. He pleaded not guilty and did not have an attorney representing him at the time. Attorney Kevin Horan represented Lee during his trial but is no longer Lee’s attorney for unknown reasons.
