Sounds like she got into someone else's car, not her own (how I read this anyway). If it were a vehicle she owned, they would know the year, not just the manufacturer and plate number in my opinion. 73-Year-Old Woman Missing in Pike County - NewsBreak
WHAT AM I MISSING HERE ?!?

Isn't the purpose of a 'tag' to identify the owner of the vehicle? How can we have the tag # and NOT know whose it is ?!?

The fact they didn't have the year of the vehicle (which can be very useful in identifying the car as model numbers can change a lot year to year (the the photo they provided was poor) made me think the "tag" was just a partial, or may not have been correct. If the tag WAS complete and legible then I don't see why didn't release the year of the vehicle and state whether it was her car or a family members car versus she was getting into the car with another person (important if she had judgement issues and could have been taken advantage of by a stranger).

I hope that explains what I was thinking a little better.

I may be wrong, but I believe the vehicle belongs to her. I agree the article reads weird.

If you Google her name & go to MS missing persons Facebook page, they have an update that may be helpful. MOO

She was last seen Monday, Oct. 28, around 1:45 p.m. on Willis Cotton Road, driving south in her 2015 silver Jeep Cherokee.

The vehicle was found Tuesday morning on McCall Creek Road close to Wright’s Bethesda Methodist Church, locked and with no signs of foul play, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

“At this point we don’t know which direction to go. We aren’t going to give up,” Thornton said. “We are going to keep looking and riding and hoping someone may have her on their trail camera. At this point though, it is like she disappeared.”

Franklin County Emergency Management Agency Mark Thornton said they still have people looking for Lottie Elaine Myers.

Thornton said they are still riding the roads, checking with people in the community and surronding communities to find Myers. Flyers are being posted all around Franklin County as well.

Thornton told The Daily Leader last week they are hoping she might appear on security cameras outside of homes or trail cameras in the woods.
