Yes! ITA. The children could have been removed due to suspected neglect.
I have wondered about someone in the community taking her for the same reason. Maybe someone was tired of seeing it on a continual basis. Not saying it would be right, but it has occurred to me. It's hard to believe they could stay there, though, without someone eventually finding out. But if they took her even just to Jackson, then it would tough to find her unless someone talks. Lots of ways to hide her there.

I know that we are all thinking that something else closer to home, so to speak, has happened and that the above possibility is remote. I just feel like that however remote, it's still a slim possibility. JMO

Also, in the above link, it says there were guns in the home. So, I am thinking it was a combination of things that got them removed. I think it is best until they know what happened.

The detail that I can't figure out is the other children and how they play into this. Meaning, when they last saw her and where. They would have been interviewed, I would think. So, if it played out as it is stated in MSM....why would they say she went with mom? They are old enough to know she didn't. I was with my 6, 4 and 2 year old nieces and nephew last night. They make stuff up constantly, especially the 2 year old. I call her Miss Fibber, but it's about silly stuff. Older siblings usually tend to tell on everyone. The older two yesterday were ratting each other out, it was hilarious. One of them broke a toy and I dint have to ask because I knew right away.

So, why would they older siblings say Myra went with the mom? Did the mom say she was going to take her, send the girls in and then change her mind and tell her to go inside and she never made it? I look forward to being able to discuss this. I honestly think there so many different possibilities of what could have happen and so many different people, including people not the parents who could hold the answers.

Anyone still viewing pages on social media? I am and I am absolutely ticked off at the moment! It seems to me with the mom being arrested on a gun charge and with a little one not being watched like she should have been, and now being missing, that other family members would be a little more careful when it comes to the children and putting them in harm's way!

Sheriff says her arrest has nothing to do with disappearance. Family isn't buying it. They are upset police arrested her bc she has a baby

This mad me sad. I had expected if they were sad, it would have been because she was sad about myra and she couldn't be out looking for her or be with her family at this time. Now granted, I don't know who said it, but still. The focus should be about Myra!

Exactly! Focus should be on Myra and her alone. Why are they at the presser talking about they want answers instead of being out there looking for this baby? Jeez oh petey I am just getting angrier and angrier with this every day. And then to see what I just saw on social media... for one why are these family members not looking for her? For two why post what they are doing on social media?

I honestly don't know how you all do this. Every single day following so many cases of missing children. Yeah I follow a few here and there in the media, but after joining here and seeing just how MANY you guys follow and after reading through some of them that I didn't know about... I just can't believe it.

Kudos to all of you who have been here longer than me and double kudos to any of you who still have your sanity left. And I mean that sincerely.

Sorry to say, this is developing into a crime in the home/within the family, IMO. I will be shocked if otherwise...JMO

Yeah, I agree. I think by "an unfortunate time" I was thinking of the baby being without breastmilk if that was what he or she is accustomed to. That can cause distress and belly aches for little ones. Looks like the baby will be without mama for quite a while longer given recent developments. :-/

Wishing we knew more!
If she was breastfeeding, she probably has milk in the freezer. Since she was out all day Saturday, it leads me to believe she pumped (baby would have needed to eat, there aren't many newborns who go 5 hours between day time feedings) or used formula.

Thank you cluciano63 for saying this.
I've thought this since the day it was reported Myra was missing. The 'story' didn't make sense to me, imhoo.

I disagree. I thinl le is putting. pressure of the parents to see what happens. I don't believe they have evidence of the family being involved but are using these tactics to see if they can "get" some evidence of their involvement, IF and that's a big if, if there is any to be had.

I continue to check in on the FB page of who appears to be Myra's mother. The facebook page is listed as the same name as that listed by MSM as her mother and there are public pictures on that page of Myra and other children. On the main page of a person's FB page, you can see certain things such as "Likes," "Favorite Movies," "Favorite Apps/Games." Another public feature is something called "Recent Activity." On this particular page, it looks as though the "Recent Activity" shows on March 5th, a level was completed on Farm Heroes Saga, and on March 6th, Candy Crush Saga was also played. For those of you who may not know, these are computer games.

Let me be clear, I am not stating that the person owning the FB page was the person playing the games. I am just stating what is shown on the page for public viewing.

My own personal opinions will go unspoken.

I haven't read every single page. Have we learned what stores she shopped at? If they checked survellience tapes? Receipts, time on receipts? they had to have had a cellphone in case of an emergency, like you can't find your child and you need to check with other parent.JMO

I've not heard anything in the media about it. I originally stated that it would be unfortunate for the baby *if* mom was locked up and couldn't nurse.

Yes, I agree! It would be awful for the baby.

To bad the family wasn't talking about the baby. It sure is unfair to the mom, though. :banghead:

Not sure why, but did the father at any time leave the home during the shopping trip?

  • #836
@Annette_Eva: Per Sheriff - All the children living at home on Mt. Pilgrim Road were taken out of the home and are in custody of Dept of Human Services.

Oh no :( Mom arrested..kids taken to DHS....this sounds very bad for little Myra...makes me feel just sick!

They will also have access to the kids now and will be able help them and hear their side of what happened.

As far as I know, that hasn't been mentioned anywhere.

LE hasn't said the father left. Everything I've read, is father was home.

A 2 year old did "leave," and she is still gone. It would make sense (to me) for that to be the reason the children were removed.

Press Conference: Questions answered, some remain in missing child's case #searchforMyraLewis http://www.msnewsnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=24926090 …

Sheriff Tucker said the search for Myra will resume on Monday

http://www.msnewsnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=24926090

Monday?? Anyone have any idea why they would take two days off in searching (yesterday and today)? Whether they believe she's wandered off, been kidnapped, or foul play, wouldn't they still be actively searching?
