:waiting: :nurse: :tos:

reminder (as always and every single time we have to say it again):

we are a victim and family friendly forum: do not speculate about family members until or unless there is cause to do so.

I guess since they are now calling this an abuction, that means that they have eliminated any family member from being involved.

Everyone is a possible suspect in every case until LE rules them out. IMO

Wish we had more info, but I'm sure LE wishes they knew more too. I'm shocked they called the search off this quickly.

In the initial article above on the first post, it said the parents were not POI's or suspects. I was going to link it here but the article is no longer valid. It's the first post above, second link. I am not saying they are suspects are POI's, but I do find it interesting that the article can't be found.

Search continues for missing toddler

The Madison County sheriff says his team is regrouping this morning. They plan to continue searching this afternoon.

ETA: Video says searchers "will be bringing dogs with them" when they return to search. *confused* Thought the search was called off, seems it may have just been halted?

According to this, the search is VERY much still on. Would like to know where the person on twitter got their info from?!?

Looking at their property on Google Satellite, I don't see how in the world you could even conduct a thorough search. It's very densely wooded, for acres and acres and acres in all directions.

And they are just now bringing in the dogs? WTH? :panic:

I'm just relieved they haven't stopped searching! Keep looking!!!

Has the Amber Alert been cancelled? I feel like I read that upthread but now I'm not able to find it. Might just be my imagination.

ETA: I think I must have associated them calling the search off to also mean they cancelled the Amber Alert... I wonder where this reporter got her news that they stopped searching...

I'm not under the impression that they waited six hours before calling for help. We do not know all the details here. It's very possible that there was confusion between the parents about which one had the two year old with them. It would explain the time span. Picture mom getting home from errands, they just then realize the baby is missing, then they go into panic mode and begin searching for her. How long was mom gone? It could have been quite awhile considering her possible drive time into town and back and whether or not she had multiple errands to run. Then consider they might have called several family members to see if they had stopped by and picked her up. Grasping at straws. Then they finally called the sheriff.

JMOO about how that unusually long timespan before calling LE in could have happened.

Statement analysis is about as reliable as phrenology as an indicator of anything.

I hope this is not another case where a relative who wants a child takes one from her own family. Maybe jealous since she just had a baby. IMO. Prayers they find this sweet beautiful little angel.

I hope it is - infinitely preferable to an RSO or her having wandered off alone

So I wonder if that's just a guess, based on being unable to locate her in the area, that she was abducted?

It just seems that LE often doesn't imagine how very far a 2 year old can walk - and they could miss her little tiny self hidden in some bushes.

Only thinking out loud and bouncing off your post.

Does LE think this was a family abduction?
Stranger abduction? What?
This makes my stomach hurt.

And they are just now bringing in the dogs? WTH? :panic:

She disappeared SATURDAY AROUND 10-11 am and they are
JUST NOW BRINGING IN DOGS 55 est hours later?

Something is way off here, imoo.

@TRex21: Sheriff R*ndy Tuck*r: Search for Myra Lewis continues.

Not much, but just on my twitter feed. I think people need to realize that this is an area where child disappearances are not the norm, much less child abductions. Cut the parents and LE a break here. They had over 250 people searching those woods on foot Saturday and Sunday. This is fairly local to me. This is not something we experience routinely.
