Family members said in a press conference Monday that they think Myra has been kidnapped, but Tucker said that so far all officials know is that Myra is gone.

“It was reported as a missing child, she was reported as having wandered off. We haven’t been able to corroborate anything except that Myra is still missing,” Tucker said. “Until we can prove or disprove one theory or another, we’ve still got to consider every possibility. She may have wandered off, she may have been abducted, we just don’t know at this point. We don’t have any physical evidence to lead us in any certain direction other than that.”

I agree about not slamming the parents. We just don't know enough right now and I'm sure they are devastated.

As far as weather, we had a high of 77 yesterday and it was beautiful all weekend. It only got down to around mid 50's Sat. night, if I recall. However, we had high winds and rain last night with a low around 40. It's cold and overcast this morning. It is currently 27 and we had flurries that didn't stick. I'm about an hour from Camden.

ETA: Welcome to Mississippi. Where, if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute.

OMIGOSH! That's what they say about Texas!!

It has not been above freezing today, and the roads are still icy. Funny, because Sat. was beautiful, in the 70's, short sleeve shirt weather. Dontcha just love it?!!

That wouldn't be the first time NG got her facts wrong. I put no faith in what she says anymore, she likes to sensationalize.

I tend to agree. I only felt comfortable mentioning it because that particular info came from a reporter phoning in from the "area" Myra went missing and had attended the press conference.

Our County here in Kentucky, is under a state of emergency due to the roads. Most are impassable, and most businesses are closed. Come home Myra! :(

Wanna see some sloppy reporting? Go to the Holly Bobo thread, Lots of misreporting there. ;) By reporters. :seeya:

Hey argue with the sheriff, not me.
I'm posting a quote from the sheriff.

The sheriff does not know when the child actually went missing, only when she was reported missing and when she was last seen by the mom. He says nothing about the dad seeing her. For all we know, the dad could have fallen asleep and NONE of the kids had any supervision until the mom came home. We just don't know all the details.

Myra was born November 30, 2011.
I don't know why it isn't on the Amber Alert... :waitasec:
So she is 2 years and 3 months old... 27 months. :twocents:

Yes... please keep this in mind when watching Nancy.
If the source is a reporter from the area that's different.
But if Nancy just says something without a source... please nobody run off with it! :please:

Does anyone know if the sister she was with is old enough to give correct information?

It appears all the sisters would be old enough to give some information.
5 and up is my guess. Correct would totally depend on the individual child. :twocents:

Also, she may have shopped at more than one store. I'm a bargain hunter, and I usually hit three before coming home.

When the stores are an hour away and you have a less than 2 month old baby at home?
I really wonder if we are getting incorrect information reported...
I find it hard to believe Mom left a less than 60 day old baby home for 6 hours.
But anything is possible, I just think it's possible we are getting some inaccurate information. :twocents:

Hey guys the statement analysis site is off limits here as a link or as a discussion. Also the parents are considered victims on WS unless LE says otherwise.

TIA

I wanted to add some info that I've read/heard on Nancy Grace's page on CNN website. It is being reported that at any given time there could be up to 10 children in the home. There were children playing outside when the mother left at 10am to go to the store. She instructed the children to go inside and they did. The father was in a back room looking after a newborn. At around 12 pm he went to make the children lunch and that is when he discovered Myra was missing. I haven't heard anything to explain why they didn't report her missing until 4. The family believes that at some point after the mom left, Myra went back outside without anyone knowing, and was abducted from the front yard. Not sure why they assume she was abducted and had not wandered off, unless they "know" that she wouldn't have gone off alone.
Link ?

I personally don't think the parents were involved in this case.
I do not get an Ayla, Aliayah, Caylee vibe here.
I think someone actually abducted her... I'm not so sure it was a stranger though. :twocents:

I wonder what the dogs picked up? If anything. I just wish they had brought them in sooner.

Myra Lewis was last seen about 11 a.m. Saturday at her house on Mount Pilgrim Road in Camden, authorities said. The girl's mother told Myra and her sisters to go inside the house and then left for the grocery store, police said.

Gregory Lewis said the family searched the house up and down and then he drove his 4-wheeler around the neighborhood looking for her. He said the family's dogs, and the dogs used by police, picked up Myra's scent, which ended at the road.

This precious baby has a twinkle in her eye; an impish grin. Praying she is found ASAP.

I find it hard to believe Mom left a less than 60 day old baby home for 6 hours.

It wasn't like the baby was left alone or with a sitter, though. Dad was at home.

My brother was once left at his preschool because my mother and stepfather each thought the other one would be picking him up. It was right by their work, but we lived over an hour away, so it wasn't until both of them got home that anyone noticed. Signals can get crossed.

Tucker said the property has been searched extensively, including a large pond across the road.

“We’ve foot-searched every inch of the four square miles around this home. What we need are persons that may know the family or have contact with the family that may have knowledge of Myra’s whereabouts,” he said. “We need them to call the sheriff’s department, however insignificant they feel the information may be. It may be that piece that we need that can put everything together for us. I would urge them to call and give us that information.”

what the heck does that mean???????????????

Oh I know, I just know a lot of Mom's won't leave a newborn for that long.
It makes me wonder if we are getting correct information from the media.
I'm not saying that the parents did anything wrong, just wondering if it's correct information is all. :twocents:

"If you know a crazy cousin that wants kids and might have taken her, let us know."
You know... the usual.

In my opinion, Katy, it means they think she didn't wander off.

I still think she probably did. At any rate, I wonder if they're searched a 5 mile radius (10 mile diameter circle) from where she disappeared.

Because given this amount of time, a very healthy and adventurous 2 year old could walk 5 miles. Or more.

I really wish we could talk to the older sibs about this. When did they see their 2 yr old sis last? etc etc...
