MADISON COUNTY, MS -
(WMC-TV) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Monday they broadened its investigation, regarding the whereabouts of a 2-year-old girl, to include the Memphis area. Also, they are now offering a $20,000 reward.

This shirt design is certainly different! IF someone does have her and lives in the area, they won't be taking little Myra out for fear of recognition.

Another idea that has occurred to me is that they never expected there to be much effort by police. A few mentions on the news at the most and then the case fades away.

I keep coming back to the statement the neighbor made about maybe her bio dad took her. :what: Maybe they don't know what they're talking about, or they know a whole lot more than we do.

Complete speculation here. . .moo. . .and all that. What if Myra does have a different bio dad? What if he told mom he wants Myra in his life? Mom turns Myra over or he's going to sue for custody, do paternity testing, etc. ? Mom doesn't want Dad to know and she hands Myra off. . .and has to come up with some explanation why she's gone.

I know, so far fetched, but that's all I got. :facepalm:

The design speaks volumes but that's not my issue with the shirt. I have from the time I began to realize she may have not wandered off accidentally, or it wasn't a neighbor abduction, thought it was about money.

That really leaves three options.

1. Hide her and raise money through benefits and donations, she reappears later what joy!

2. Anticipate cause for a lawsuit against police later. (Unequal attention with the Bonner case, racial bias. This didn't work out did it?)

3. Trade/leave her as collateral for debt/goods.

I do not think "sold" fits as that indicates having a large amount of cash on hand, and nobody seems to have that. Workable thought process, but I don't quite think there's enough skill for carrying out number 2 in the bunch. Number 1, remotely possible and an almost Memphis connection. 3. Most likely scenario.

At any rate though, if they had anticipated this kind of attention, wouldn't they have attempted to remove the guns from the house? That one messes my most likely scenarios up a little...unless mom acted alone and dad is totally innocent and she more or less forgot.

Relatives, i.e. safe houses, if there was a plot from the beginning. My fear is that the more it heats up, the more someone isn't going to want to hang on to her. There are so many cameras everywhere now. Makes it difficult to just drop her safely at a Walmart or a gas station.

My conversation with my mom ( former DHS employee) went this direction. Of course, she's very prudent and warns that there are so many different possibilities here. But, this one was strong.

A pretty blonde 19 or 20 year old disappeared while washing lampposts at the apartment complex where her sister was manager. Only thing left behind were flip flops. The accused turned out to have an alibi via camera at a home depot or something I think. He was maybe a 30 year old Asian guy and suspected after discovering he stole hundreds of pair of underwear from a college laundry and tagged many of them with articles and photos from the college newspaper. Ring a bell?

Also have you ever heard of the serial killer who dumped prostitutes bodies in Raymond? I only read about it once in the Jackson Free Press. It got NO coverage and the JFP alleged McMillian didn't want it known because it would scare the public. One woman was identified. She was a white girl from Memphis, known prostitute and drug addict who was living in a house with other prostitutes near downtown. (New puzzle for you maybe.)

Well, thanks, because I thought maybe I was getting loony because I thought that. I just couldn't shake that statement made by the neighbor. Maybe it's not so far fetched after all. I do hope it's true. It would mean Myra is most likely alive and well.

ijmoo the news presser stunk. I learned nothing..... except the sheriff did say he believes Myra is alive because nothing points to her being deceased.

The shirt has me in a tizzy! I know I am splitting hairs about the wording. But it starts out "I'm Lost" and then says "I...was taken."

The family believes that Myra was kidnapped according to a report early on. Here's the link:

Now to put it on a shirt is pretty bold.

I openly admitted that I was splitting hairs about the wording of the t-shirts and my intent was not to distract from the search of sweet Myra. Having pictures/numbers on the shirt is certainly a great tool in getting the word out for those who don't stay tuned into the media. The problem I have is that if I knew nothing about this case and saw "taken" it would lead me to believe that Myra was not close to home. We don't know if she is or isn't. But searches have stopped near the home and LE have stated that they have searched that area thoroughly and are now searching well beyond the home into another state. That is great. That is actually wonderful. If they feel they have searched every nook and cranny around the property, I applaud their efforts and truthfully respect the time and hard work they are devoting to finding this little girl. But the last time I checked there has been no mention of draining the ponds around the home. I know that divers spent some time in the water. Was their search definitive that there was no trace of Myra in the water? What would warrant draining a body of water in search of a missing person?

The only thing that I can add is that I read that they did use sonar when they searched the ponds.
