"The city of Hattiesburg and the great state of Mississipi has suffered the loss of one of our very own. A family member and protector and defender our constitution," Mayor Johnny Dupree read from a resolution from Washington.

Tate's uncle Pastor Vern Ross said Tate was known to many as CoCo, a man of faith, and one who cherished his family.

Liquori Tate remembered for loving nature

http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/2015/05/16/liquori-tate-remembered-loving-nature/27465269/

Tate was known among colleagues as a dedicated worker with a contagious smile who worked tirelessly to strengthen his relationship with the community.

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain,” HPD officer Robert Magee said. “Officer Tate had many storms in his short life, and after every storm, there was rain. But not only did he dance in the rain, he didn’t mind taking others (dancing) with him.”

In addition to the Deen family, hundreds of law enforcement officials from Mississippi and around the country arrived to pay respect, including representatives of the Covington County Sheriff’s Department, the New York City Police Department, the Florida Highway Patrol and the Plaquemines (Louisiana) Sheriff’s Department.

So sweet, Queen Bee. Hard to get through this thread without tears falling. I hope this brings the community closer together and stronger so they never have to go though this pain again.

:goldcrown: You deserve this for all your tireless hours in posting and sharing this with us. Wish I lived closer so I could be there to pay my respects but you have given me a window to see in and be part of it. Thank you.
thank you so much, my friend, it was the least i could do :heartbeat:

the 6th, 7th and 8th arrested will have their first appearances on monday but i haven't seen anything further regarding the first five....

but i sure will be looking for it and will post as soon as i know anything :seeya:

The fact that Liquori's mother was able to say that she forgave his murderer says volumes to me !
What a wonderful lady. Just wow.
To all who helped raise this young man,and other friends and loved ones ; my utmost condolences .

From the deaths of Liquori and Benjamin -- maybe people will realize that police do have some excuse for being quick to pull their weapons. A second too late , and you may be dead , if you're a cop. :(

Nice tribute from @NYPDnews. They were here for funerals of fallen #Hattiesburg officers #BenjaminDeen & #LiquoriTate

I've never been more proud to be from Hattiesburg, MS. The display of respect, emotion, and dignity that they have shown to the world during this tragedy is a powerful example of the wonderful people I grew around and my friends and family who still live there. To the world, they may seem "backwards," or uneducated with their southern drawls, but they love with big hearts, and I'm proud to call the Hub City home.

Mcphail has no previous record, state requested 100k bond, judge disagrees and set the 15k bond.
