Rebecca Henderson Paulk

The last time anyone saw Rebecca Henderson Paulk was on the afternoon of Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at a local business in Meridian, Mississippi. Several days after the 26-year-old was last seen, her vehicle was found abandoned in a rural area not far from her last known whereabouts. Inside were a number of her valuable personal items, including her laptop. Her cell phone was found in a nearby field. There appeared to be a break in the case when police questioned one man following his arrest on unrelated misdemeanor charges. After searches of his home, no evidence was found linking him to the disappearance. However, authorities do consider him a person of interest, as he was the last person known to have seen Rebecca before she vanished. Seven years later, Rebecca's case is still open. In 2020, Rebecca’s family offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to her whereabouts. Rebecca is described as 5’6”, weighing 145 lbs., with blonde hair and green eyes. If you have any information, please contact the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department at (601) 482-9806 or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers at 855-485-TIPS (8477).

7 years and no recent movement - either from the media or LE. I hope that is not the case with the LE agency behind the scenes.

According to the district attorney’s office, Poisso, who was convicted of unrelated drug charges, died in prison on Sunday, August 31, 2025. “I definitely think he is someone who knew something,” England said. She declined to name any persons of interest in Rebecca’s case. However, “several people who were associating with her at the time had connections to the area her stuff was found in,” she said. Foul play has not been ruled out in the disappearance.

Since the time of her disappearance, Rebecca’s parents have offered a $20,000 reward. An anonymous donor contributed $1,000. And this summer, in connection with the 10th anniversary, the Marengo County district attorney’s office added $10,000 to the reward, bringing the total to $31,000 for information that leads to finding Rebecca or the prosecution of the parties involved in her disappearance.

Details of Disappearance

Paulk was last seen at a gas station in Meridian, Mississippi on September 8, 2015. After leaving her parents' home in Demopolis, Alabama, she had met up with some friends at John Bentley Poisso Jr.'s home off Old Wire Road. She was last seen on security footage with Poisso at the gas station a day after she left her parents' house.

On September 9, Paulk's 2006 Honda Civic Del Sol with the Alabama license plate number 48AF680 was found unlocked and abandoned on a logging road in Whynot, Mississippi, near the Alabama border, ten miles from Meridian. Her personal belongings, including her purse, computer and iPad, were inside it. Her phone was in the wood about a hundred yards away.

When authorities found the car, they called Paulk's mother, who wasn't able to get in touch with Paulk. Her mother then reported her missing.

Poisso, who was the last person to see Paulk, was convicted of unrelated drug charges after her disappearance. He died in prison in August 2025. He was never charged in Paulk's case and authorities haven't publicly named any other persons of interest. They did search his residence after she went missing, but didn't find anything to implicate him in her disappearance.

At the time of her disappearance, Paulk was in training to become an inspector for the Occupational Safety and Health Administation (OSHA). She enjoys hunting and other outdoor pursuits, and she loved spending time with her dogs. Authorities believe it's "highly likely" that foul play was involved in Paulk's case. Her disappearance remains unsolved.
