MS MS - Robert Alexander Easterling, 30, Pickens, Holmes Co, 20 Apr 2022

I am Alex's mom, and I am more than happy to fill in details for some of the questions that have been posted if it might help me in finding my son.

One of the first things I want to address is about "just getting out of jail" Yes, I had just picked him up from jail the same day he was last seen. He was arrested on Feb 16th for and outstanding warrant in Hinds County from 2020 for Grand Larceny. My son has struggled with substance abuse issues for the past few years and this was a result of that addiction plain and simple. It was reduced to a misdemeanor and he was released on PTI. If I need to expound further on this, I can do so in a follow up reply.

I was unaware when I dropped him off at his "friends" house at 8:15pm on 4/20/22 located at 138 Stockyard Rd Pickens, MS, but this is the home of a known drug dealer named DeEdward Anderson AKA Chucky. Although I wasn't aware of the drug activity at this location, the Holmes County Sheriff Willie March is fully aware, along with several if not most of the other LOE and elected leadership in the county. Drugs and Crime are rampant in Holmes county because it is ALLOWED.

The comment I made about looking like a "chop shop" is simple, the place looked shady, a junk yard with old cars everywhere, high wooden fencing, flood lights, etc. Look it up on Google maps and you can see it for yourself. This is also because catalytic converter, atv, and ag equipment theft is a common occurrence in Holmes County. Again, all common knowledge to LEO, but never followed up on and certainly not curtailed.

On Friday 4/22 Sheriff Willie March went to this location and spoke with Chucky about Alex. He confirmed that Alex had come by on Wednesday night. Chucky stated they were on the front porch talking and Alex asked for some phone numbers since he had just gotten a new phone that day, Chucky says he went inside to get his phone and when he came back out Alex was just gone. My father Robert W Easterling also went to this location to speak with Chucky a little later that day. Chucky told him that they were talking on the front porch, he went inside to put on a t-shirt and we he came back Alex was gone. Later that same day, a deputy spoke with Chucky and he then stated that he went inside to get a cigarette and when he came back out Alex was just gone. 3 different responses to the same question. Aside from this informal questioning, Chucky has still to this day not been formally questioned by any LEO.

With help from Texas Equusearch, we were able to get drones flown over the area on Wednesday 4/27. The next day 4/28, S&R handlers and canines came out and do a search at the property. Initially Chucky would not allow the search, but after he made personal calls to Sheriff March and then to his mama, he allowed the handlers to proceed. The dogs immediately hit on my sons scent and went from the front gate straight to the front porch. The dogs then attempted to go around to the back of the house, that was when the situation changed. Chucky started waving his arms and yelling at the handlers, "he didn't go back there" A member of the search team asked him how he knew he didn't go back there if he didn't see where he went and was just gone when he came back out on the porch. At that time, we were asked to leave. We have not been allowed back since that time to do any type of search at the last known location for my son. Another item of note is that during this search, the SO2 Chief Deputy, Roosevelt March came to the property. He never exited his vehicle or acknowledge me, my husband, or my father. He spent 25-30 minutes chatting and openly flirting with Chucky's mom as she stood at his car window.

Google Take Out Data, if you don't know what it is, you should, especially if you have an android device. It literally tracks every step you take. It initially looked like a foreign language to me, but after quite a bit of reading on how to open and read JSON files, the rest was just line by line data crunching. One thing that threw me off was the timestamp, for whatever reason, it is 5 hours ahead of Central time.
This is where you can find the definitions for Google detected activities.

If there is anyone out there that is experienced with this type of data analysis, I would love some feedback.
These are a few data points from his Google takeout data. I am also attaching a document that shows points on a map.

There has to be somebody on here that has experience interpreting that type of cell phone data.

And to Alex's mom - I do hope your son is found quickly.
That was my thinking. There are a lot of people on here with many different skills. Surely someone can help out. I might have a friend who can help as well.

Per my friend-
"It's 5 hours ahead because it's Zulu time
Hence the Z at the end. That just means GMT, which is common.
The lat and long can be entered into Google Maps, the accuracy score is a number that I can't verify off the top of my head. I don't know if that's a common GPS accuracy thing or a Google arbitrary number.
That's just because it's Zulu time, which is GMT, or the base time that all other times are derived.
Right now she's CDT, which is Z -5
Most global systems just use Z/GMT to standardize communications."

He also said based on your google document that you have done a very good job of "parsing the data" and have gotten it all right. Is there anything specific that you are wanting to know?

Actually there is. The last two pings on Alex’s phone where the same exact lat/long location and were a few hours apart with no other activity between them. I know with certainty that is where his phone was for several hours before it finally stopped working. We searched and searched without success and it wasn’t until I realized that the 2900 accuracy was actually the ping radius in meters. Meaning the higher the number the larger the possible area of location. So I bought the exact same phone and took the same route that we made on 4/20/22. The one exception is that rather than going to his last known location, for obvious reasons, I went a littler further up the road and parked for 15 minutes hoping to get ping info. Well it worked and I got a ping at 2700 accuracy.
I made another map with new ping location and compared it to where I was actually parked. From there I used the measure tool on the map and tried to identify the most probable location that the actual last pings from his phone might have actually been. I would love someone to look at it and let me know if I might actually be on to something or if it’s just wishful thinking.
Hopefully my explanation wasn’t to confusing and y’all can make sense of what I was trying to do. I’m adding the screen shot of the map locations/pings. If anyone can help me with that, I would be forever grateful.

This is incredibly smart by you. Mucho respect. :bows:

Thank you. Never doubt the power of a mama bear missing her cub. ❤️ We will go to the ends of the Earth to find our babies.
Just wanted to echo how impressive your efforts are, and I'm so sorry you're the one doing the heavy lifting on this case. I live in South Mississippi, but I'm originally from Hinds County so I understand some of what you're up against. You're a great mom. Sincerely hoping you get answers soon.

THE CRIMINAL DISAPPEARANCE OF
Alex Easterling
FROM PICKENS MISSISSIPPI
Alex was dropped off by his Mom at a "friends" house in Pickens
Mississippi at 8:15pm on April 20th, 2022.
Within just a few hours, his phone pinged for the last time
across the street from this same house. There was an initial
search, but since that time, searching rights have been
revoked by the homeowner. Holmes County Sheriff March
states "We've done all we can do to try to locate him". The
family desperately needs information to help them find Alex.
PLEASE TAKE A PHOTO OF THIS FLYER SO YOU HAVE IT

A $10,000 reward has been offered by the family.

I am self-alerting a mod for approval due to the news outlet. It is a rural area without any local news outlets so it is much like others that have been approved on a case-by-case basis.

Okay before I read any further (I apologize if this has already been addressed) on the Holmes County PD post is his missing poster. It states that a cousin dropped him off but from reading the article from Breezy News his mother stated he asked her text him when she got home. Which was it? Who dropped him off? His mother or cousin? I'm Hella confused

I in no way said the search was futile and that the family should give up. Are you a local? There may be some miscommunication here due to understanding this case from a different perspective. I also follow Jessica Stacks case and have since the very beginning. I follow all of the MP cases in my state. I also understand the different personalities that hold some of the the offices of sheriff in my state, as well, and understand the reputation of this SO. I would not want to go missing in that jurisdiction. I am fortunate to have an outstanding SO where I live and our community is all the safer for it.

My sincerest apologies for misinterpreting your words are extended to you. It's been a while since I've visited this thread.

This is a case that I thought might have a hired MS PI but nothing I've seen or read confirms it after the PI mentioned it on his podcast months ago.

The Sheriff's Office must be a doozy. Packed with small town corruption, maybe?

It seems obvious that this man, Missing Person Robert Alexander Easterling of Holmes County, may have landed across the street from the place his mother drove him to after picking him up at the jail, according to where his cell phone last pinged, iirc. Poor guy's been missing, since moments after leaving jail, and never enjoyed to breathe free another day after his release.

These written statements are a simple opinion and some thoughts hoping to help.

Wasn't Holmes County where little Myra Lewis went missing more than a few years ago and never found?

It seems her mom went shopping and she returned home to find Myra was gone. One time LEO thought ML was seen in Memphis.

LEO didn't seem to put much effort into solving her case but maybe I'm wrong.

I do not know where exactly Holmes Co is located and the towns within the county like Pickens, for instance, where our MP lives.

All is good between us, sleuthing friend. Thanks for the apology.

Well, not exactly but funny you should mention little Myra. She went missing from rural Camden, in Madison Co. which shares at tiny bit of border Holmes Co.which is to it's north, heading into the MS delta. Her parents just picked up and moved without leaving a forwarding address or contact info with MCSO according to them. The msm link for that is somewhere in the latest pages of Myra's thread. Rumblings of family connections to the SO and such and such go round and round.

MCSO put HUGE resources into finding Myra. They searched every pond, brought search dogs, cadaver dogs, searched out every junked car in the surrounding rural area etc. They pulled out all the stops and at the end of the day had very little cooperation from the family, punctuated by my mention above that the family moved and left no forwarding address.

Holmes Co is located just north of Madison County which is part of the greater Jackson area, sort of. Holmes is between Yazoo and Attala and you are heading northward into more of what we call the Delta. The terrain is drastically different from the rest of the state and it is a unique area in many respects.

Hi there LuckyJ,
It was his mom. If you scroll back a bit, his mom has come here and written a lengthy post about exactly what happened that day. She does clarify that she is the one who picked him up and dropped him off.

I'm sorry this was done to you, Ashley. Is there anything that can be done about someone like him? Have you made any progress in the search? I wish there was more I could do. Sending you positive energy!

Wow! I think this guy is beneath the bottom feeders. I have a word or two to describe him, but I don’t want a timeout. I’m so sorry for Ashley and the other families.
