That side profile sure looks similar to Adji. What could have happened then if it is him? Was he taken and moved to Mississippi?

Poor little boy. If testing indicates he may have relatives from the area he was found, he probably has not been reported missing and is a victim. Thank goodness his case is probably going to be solved through DNA now - amazing.

There's no missing persons in Sharkey County on NamUs. He probably wasn't reported missing.

I sure hate ‘liking’ comments like yours, no matter how helpful they are. :( You know what I mean.

"If" these are Adji's remains my guess would be he was abducted by a stranger who had ties to MS or traveled to/through that area for work or recreation. I skimmed through Adji's 3 discussion threads and the media links thread. I didn't see anything that stood out in terms of anyone having connections to MS.

Sad that after at least 7 years no one has missed this wee boy.

LE only found his cranium...It's possible animals may have moved it...His remaining skeleton could be in the general area...
RSBM

I agree. Did LE ever search again for more remains? Along with the rest of his skeleton they might find evidence including clothing and/or belongings with identifying information. The sad truth is they might find more victims as well.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
A cranium of a small child was discovered at the Sharkey Issaquena County line. The cranium was found by Ricky Hayes, an employee of Duett Hack Hole Services. Deputy Carolyn Tillis was dispatched to the scene along with the Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Eason to retrieve the skull. The cranium was sent to the Mississippi State Medical Examiners Office and was then sent to Dr. Nicholas Herrmann of Mississippi State University for anthropological analysis. A follow-up survey will be conducted to search for additional remains; no date set.

Our understanding is that, to date, no further remains have been found. Would be great however, if more evidence was uncovered.

I still hold out hope that Adji is alive and well somewhere. Maybe placed with a good foster family and even adopted.

We are working the case. Some cases just take longer than others! Thanks to DNA testing we do know that this child was likely African American. This has not yet been updated in his NamUs record (which lists his ancestry as uncertain).

I'm wondering if his body was dumped in Sharkey County because of the largely wooded areas on the eastern side of the county (Delta National Forest). It's possible he's not even from Sharkey county, the biggest city is Rolling Fork which has a population of only ~2,400 people. It's a town where everyone knows everybody and I think somebody would've noticed if a small child was missing. South Delta School District is a small school that serves the unincorporated areas in Sharkey and Issaquena county. The boy was in elementary school range, except if we was at the bottom limit of his age range.

The other issue I have with just his cranium being found and none of the rest of his remains is Sharkey county gets a lot of bad weather when it comes to rain and tornadoes. Take that into consideration with being found in the Eastern part of the county which is in the area of the Delta National Forest, animals have picked apart his poor body. I hope peace is found for his soul.
