Mississippi hunters find skeletal remains in national forest
The Delta National Forest, which is located in Sharkey County, has an area of over 60,000 acres.
Two hunters found skeletal remains while walking in the Delta National Forest.
The Delta National Forest, which is located in Sharkey County, has an area of over 60,000 acres.
According to Sharkey County Coroner Robert Barfield, they found the remains on November 20.
The remains, the coroner said, had been there for “some time.”
There are no entries in Namus for people missing in Sharkey County, but there are three in Yazoo County. The most likely is probably Jessie Edwards Sr, who went missing after walking away from Holly Bluff, which is nearly on the Sharkey County line and just east of the forest where the remains were found:

The other two Yazoo County cases are both from Yazoo City, which is further away to the east.
