Sheriff Welford, who was life flighted to USA Medical Center in Mobile, got out of his car to throw spikes when the suspect ran him over, according to Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd.

I hope they find those 2 idiots (Brandy Williams and Christopher Baxter) quick. They were being chased on a drug charge, now they can be charged with murder. Of course some attorney will come out of the woodwork and say it was an accident. If anything, it's murder, hit and run, leaving the scene of a crime.

The Mississippi Court of Appeals has overturned the conviction of Brandy Nicole Williams in the 2010 death of George County Sheriff Garry Welford... The court ordered a new trial for Williams.

Williams and her boyfriend, Christopher Lee Baxter, were convicted in 2012 of capital murder. Each was sentenced to life without parole.
