A 13-year-old Texas girl who went missing in February has been found more than 450 miles away in Mississippi with a man, according to the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.

So glad to hear she was found alive, but what has she had to endure? Takes my breath away for her and her family. Dammit . She was 13 y/o when she was taken. A young, young teen -- probably a 7th- or 8th-grader. But she is away from it literally, but what horrors and hurts may be in her mind and possibly in her dreams when she sleeps?
And the abductor, "charged with sexual battery and kidnapping." Grrrrr. Hoping that brings him a long sentence if he is found guilty. Has he done this wretched thing before?

Mississippi authorities have located a 13-year-old Texas girl who went missing in February after a couple saw her walking along a highway and contacted authorities.

Mississippi authorities have located a missing 13-year-old Texas girl living with a 27-year-old man in Perry County.

Perry County Sheriff Mitch Nobles praised a couple who saw the girl walking along Highway 98 across from Perry Central High School on Thursday and contacted authorities.

The Perry County Sheriff's Office identified the girl as the missing 13-year-old from Houston and, upon further investigation, arrested and charged Thomas Patton with sexual battery and kidnapping in connection with the girl's disappearance from Houston in February.

So glad she has been found and he has been arrested and charged. I hope she is receiving all the support she needs to heal. Only a couple years older that my eldest and I just can’t imagine.
