Noting:

Cascade County Sheriff Jesse Slaughter provided an explanation of the area and guidelines and safety concerns for searchers; initial estimates indicate that more than 150 volunteers showed up.

He said that additional search volunteers are not needed at this point, because they don't want to have to explain all of the guidelines to every new person that arrives. However, people are welcome to drop off bottled water and/or refreshments for the searchers.

KRTV has learned that the house has been secured by law enforcement since the investigation began.

Updated 5 minutes ago:

Public search being held today to search for Amy Harding

Sheriff Slaughter said during the briefing he wasn't surprised by the large turnout of roughly 170 people. The group was broken into roughly 14 teams and then dispatched to a large search area.

Some of the organizations involved are Cascade County Sheriffs, Montana Highway Patrol, Malmstrom, Sally 1 from the Salvation Army, Fire Fighters from Volunteer Fire Departments Search & Rescue, CERT, Gallatin / Cascade County GIS, along with all of the civilian volunteers.

There will be no more volunteers accepted at this time for the search.

Outbuilding or someone picked her up are the only things that would keep her from freezing. Of course, not hearing if she called someone from home, or from a neighbor's phone.

Very interesting...secured since the investigation began. I take this to mean that the house has been off limits to the owner since Sunday night, in order to preserve potential evidence. This seems unusual if LE is convinced that Amy left the house willingly.

The LE response seems pretty proactive from the start, and it seems they know more than is being reported.

Yes, they are doing their due diligence - searching according to the statement they've been given by the last person to see her - but there's more going on here. MOO

Did any reports say what she was wearing on her feet? I couldn’t find any reference but might’ve missed it.

She really could be anywhere, miles away completely out of the search area. We haven't been told when the last time anyone, other than the boyfriend, has seen or talked to her.

Something is up in this case! Just not buying the story as it is being told.

How far is the closest neighbor? It looks very desolate around this house.

Could it be the boyfriend, a neurosurgeon, think he would never be suspected due to his “title”?

My opinions only.
These are some images from the video below to give you an idea of the distance between the homes. The video is from Jan 27. MOO

It's still there. Look at the video at the bottom of the article where they are in the church. Second paragraph up from that - it's the second sentence. MOO
Thank you, now I see it.

Was there a news conference that said what time she left?

The description of Harding-Permann’s clothing was updated to include a camouflage pullover, and law enforcement instructed searchers in the use of GPS and some basic safety guidelines.
Public turns out in force to help search for Amy Harding-Permann

I didn't see anything in the link about a pullover but I might have missed it. If true, a hoodie pullover good be very warm & 30+ degrees is not that cold. Anything over 10 degrees I walk my dog for a hour a day in a hooded sweatshirt. Of course I'm not wearing yoga pants & wouldn't admit if I was.

I hope they have secured all cars on the premises, too.

Here is more of the article. I miss things too.
Volunteers were asked to avoid taking photos or videos while searching, refrain from touching anything that might be evidence, keep anything they might see or hear confidential from the public and above all, to be safe.

“At the end of the day, we want not only to find (Harding-Permann), but if there’s a criminal intent involved in this case, we want to get justice,” Slaughter said.

The description of Harding-Permann’s clothing was updated to include a camouflage pullover, and law enforcement instructed searchers in the use of GPS and some basic safety guidelines.

“We think it’s important to find (Harding-Permann), but it’s also a risk for us,” Slaughter said. “We’re basically entrusting all our sheriff’s office power to the community…Do not become a liability to us out there so we have to rescue you.”

That's new, it was a tshirt, and yoga pants, no shoes. Wonder how the pullover was added? Video footage maybe?

You don't like yoga pants bwt42? I love them.

A question for anyone that's searched her Facebook page. I found her Mom. She has a last name that is NOT Harding or Permann and appears to have daughters with the same last name that are young adults. Was Amy married twice before (Harding/Permann) or did the Mom remarry and have other children with a different last name when Amy was young? Only checking in case there is more than one ex she might have turned to for help.
Only one ex.
