• Deputies arrived on scene approx 8:28 p.m.
• JV told them that Amy assaulted him and fled toward the Missouri River prior to the deputies arriving on scene.

That’s the one I had seen too. I guess the time of her leaving wasn’t exactly stated? I guess prior could be just prior or hours prior?

Right, her time of departure wasn't specified and it could be interpreted to mean that she took off any time prior to deputies arriving - the day before, the week before, an hour before... I don't interpret it that way, though. And actually, I'm leaning toward she didn't take off toward the river at all. MOO

It’s bugging me that none of the media reports or LE statements describe what she had on her feet. Seems that this would give a better idea of how far she could realistically get. (Although, IMHO she didn’t walk anywhere.)

On 12/25/2018 there is a photo on FB of Amy and her dog with a nice looking dark haired man in front of a Christmas tree. He is holding a glass of wine and she has her dog in her arms. They appear very happy and affectionate. However, prior pictures show her with a bald, heavier set gentleman. The aforesaid photo is the last one of her with a man. Did she and her longtime companion break up in 2018? Confused.

Private property in Montana is pretty private. As in, I don't think you would normally drive across someone's property. There is pretty limited access to the river, other than behind the boyfriend's house.

The part of the river by the house is a small branch of the main river. Reportedly frozen or partially frozen over. There also some patches of snow on the ground, as well as mud along the river. Footprints would probably be evident and found in the initial LE search. I'm skeptical that Amy walked into the river behind the house.

Point is that is if Amy is in the water from foul play, by someone she knows or a stranger, they would need an access point. I see two reasonably close areas near the house (H), upriver and away from Great Falls- an access point to the river off Woodland Estates Road (A), and the Millegan Road bridge in Ulm (B). -Be in decent physical condition; difficult hiking conditions/rough terrain
-Volunteers must have ID or Driver's License (Volunteers must be 18 yoa or older).

Interesting, he did mention that VanGilder is not involved in the search. I can understand how some loved ones may be too upset to help and such. But it is interesting he answered that question and not the others.

If he is under suspicion, I doubt LE would let him search for fear of contaminating evidence. Yes, it is interesting that he answered that question though.
