This article seems to refer to the same discovery but Namus lists the date as 11 May 2023 whereas the media report says 10 May 2023.

[Extract from the article] A man reported to Butte Police on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, that he found what he believed to be part of a human jawbone in the alley behind the 800 block of West Quartz Street.

The article goes on to say that authorities with a canine team searched the area 10-11 May but nothing further was located.
