Very sad. I hope they find Bamba so he can be returned to her family.

“Unfortunately, there is still no sign of her dog, Bamba. Right now the theory is that she was walking along the river with her dog, which runs alongside the dog park, and a horrible accident happened. We do not think that any religion, belief system, or heritage came into play,” Officer Bennett told the Post

I was reading that there was some ice along the sides of the river. Would there have been broken ice at some point where it looked like someone had gone into the river?

I sure hope they find her dog, soon, too.

If I would jump in an icy river for any reason, it would be to save my dogs.

The ice has been melting and breaking up due to the Chinook. The last month it has been close to zero or colder, now, it has been in the fifties. Snow, ice is melting, slush, and rivers are running fast with the snow melt.

I can see how this would happen. Unfortunately, this particular park has a gated area, and borders the river. They probably went out, and the water was too fast.

I don't understand why LE would make this comment. Sort of "don't think of an elephant."

Jpost is reporting Danit as "American-Israeli". LE likely made a blanket statement before any talk of an antisemitic hate crime/hate crime related to the ongoing war comes into play.

The department said its priority is to preserve life, and advised against anyone putting themselves in harm’s way. Anyone with information about Bamba’s location is asked to contact the Missoula Police Department at 406-552-6300.

MPD has been searching the area around Jacobs Island dog park since last Friday when Ehrlich is believed to have gone into the river.

Police say they do not have any evidence that Bamba left the river either

The Missoula Current reports there are calls for placing signs near the river warning of the dangers of high water and frozen banks have grown louder
