Found Deceased MT - Darlene Billie, 55, border of Montana/North Dakota, October 2017

55-year-old Darlene Billie was reported missing in December, but her daughter says they haven't heard from her since late October. Billie is originally from Mississippi but has lived in St. Ignatius since 2010. She had gone to visit her husband on the Montana-North Dakota border in September. Billie’s daughter talked to her mom in October to tell her that she should come home for the birth of her grandson. Her daughter has not heard from her mom since. She says it is unlike her mother to fall out of contact for this long.

Tribal law enforcement agencies are now working on the case. The case has also caught the attention of groups that advocate for missing and murdered indigenous women in the United States.

Darlene is described as 5 foot 7 inches tall and about 160 pounds. She has either black or grey hair when it hasn’t been dyed. She was last seen on the border of Montana and North Dakota.

Investigators don't have answers yet death of Montana woman

MANNING, N.D. (AP) - Investigators say they're developing leads, but still have no answers about the death of a missing Montana woman whose remains were found in western North Dakota.

Investigators are still puzzled as to why her remains were located where they were, because they were located about three miles away from a public road.

They also added that the area the remains were found at doesn't have any recreational activities around it, and the Little Missouri State Park is about 20 miles away.

In addition, the remains were found in an area of "extremely tough terrain" and it would be quite a "hike" for someone to get there from the road.
