Police are looking for a 38-year-old Butte woman who was reported missing Friday and might have been last seen walking her dog near the Motel 6 in Uptown on Saturday.
Erica Patelis-McGrath has moved around Butte quite often over the past several years, Undersheriff George Skuletich said Monday, but was living with her mother when she went missing on May 2.
Her mother reported her missing Friday and based on information Patelis-McGrath had given to her mental health counselor, police are also worried.
“She would leave and stay with other friends (in the past) and she’s an adult and has the ability to do that,’ Skuletich said. “But some of the text messages that her counselor had received from Erica — we are concerned about her welfare.”
She last talked to her counselor and another person on May 2, Skuletich said, and someone said they saw her walking near Motel 6 on Saturday. But nobody has been able to get in touch with her.
Police have tried to ping her cell phone but have been unable to locate her that way, Skuletich said. She does not have a history of mental health problems but has been dealing with some personal issues of late, he said.
She is about 5-foot-2 and weighs about 120 pounds.
