"Systematic torture"

The defense, as I can see, as follows:

PB ( Grandma): "I was a grieving parent"
JS JR: " I didn't do anything"
JS III: "I'm just a poor boy who was craving discipline and understanding"
GR: "I just did what they told me to"

BS

Boom. Yes, everyone was "sleeping" and JAH was suicidal, he kept trying to hurt himself. As for the "blood bath fight"? Oh, "boys will be boys"...of course!

When my kids were mean to each other, they had to sit on the sofa, hugging each other, singing a song about "Love at Home".

The "punishment" was so horrible, that they stopped fighting in front of me. And if they ever were "mean" and I intervened, they would say that they were not fighting. No one wanted to hug their brother for 5 minutes while singing a church song.

@mickey2942 or @Dave F. If this drags on for a couple years, will #3 remain at Billings Youth Services, or might he be transferred to a dif’ juvenile facility? Seems like there is very little info about the Billings facility & their capacity is rather low.

I ask because the facility in Billings sounds more like a health service facility, addiction, mental health services & so forth. Less like “detention”.

MONTANA

Inmates: Two inmates serving life for murders committed when they were 17.

Resentenced or Released: One, serving a 100-year sentence for a fatal beating, is asking for the state Supreme Court to order parole eligibility or a new sentencing hearing to comply with U.S. Supreme Court rulings. Attorneys for the other inmate, sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole for killing a family during a robbery, have moved to stay his appeal until the other case is decided.

The Law: In 2007, the state abolished life-without-parole sentences for juvenile offenders. However, judges have discretion to suspend parole-eligible sentences and make offenders serve out their terms, but that has never happened in the case of a juvenile offender, according to the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth.
A state-by-state look at juvenile life without parole

He will stay there. There is a youth facility in Great Falls, but I am not sure if he would be transferred. Maybe.

No doubt he requires the mental health help.
Also a juvenile correctional center in Miles, MT. I’d prefer to see him in a more jail like setting than medical facility.

I had a feeling that they would do that, get all of the paperwork in order, so it doesn't get shot down on appeal. Probably even a neuropsych consult. Takes about that long to get appointment and paperwork back. 90 days out for appointment.
Yeah & his attorney is likely as appalled as the rest of us but needed to “fight”. Honestly, idk how she can even look at him.

I don't know, probably court appointed. He is no doubt declared, "indigent".
Mom & dad in no position to help #3. I suppose the horror house will be on the market soon, or in foreclosure?

The family will need three or more public defenders, one each for criminal charges & I suppose a couple more for personal issues, like the guardianship of the 6yo, disposal of assets & such.

eta: Madison will need an attorney as well. She’s made statements & will be called as a witness, should any of the three go to trial. Moo

What a screwed up family. The home is probably not paid for, I haven't looked. Madison probably can't make the payments or bills. Great senior year for her.

All of this drama could have been easily spared. Send JAH back to his mama! These people have just screwed up so many lives with their messed up behavior.

They deserve it. But, why didn't anyone in that house just stop and think for one second about the consequences of their actions?!

Really bizarre that JR did not bring the abuse to a screeching halt! I assume he was the breadwinner for the dysfunctional mess he probably called “family”.
I think Madison will stick up for him, she’s already stated her father considered leaving with the 6yo. For some reason, I do feel he’s less involved. But, no excuses for him....he’s a grown man, a dad, grandpa, coach.

Is Madison still in school? I still feel as an adult she should face some type of charge. Of course it ain’t over.......

The only way, is to not focus on the criminal behavior, but focus on the person in front of you.

Well she won’t gain popularity defending him, but he’s entitled to a vigorous defense. Ultimately, a jury will determine his fate.
As far as the 18 yo female, since she evidently googled medical terms, she knew her nephew was in need of help. As an adult, she should be held responsible for not phoning 911, imo. I dislike MS facing no charges. One day she will likely be a mom. Then what? I also think once she’s out of school & employed, if she petitions the court, she will get custody of her brother. I’m sure PB will encourage her to do so. Not that I believe MS wants that burden.
