I don't think there's a there's a lot to stop a bullet from the truck of a car except for the car body. Most rear seat backs are just plastic and felt. I can see how a bullet fired inside a truck could pass through the rear seats and shatter a rear passenger window.

But wouldn't a bullet going through a car seat and then through a window leave a hole and a shattered/cracked window? The window looks completely busted out. IMO, if it was from a bullet it would look more like this video demonstration:

I'm thinking she set a trail so she would be found quickly. And/or perhaps she needed gas money or was hungry.

As it turns out, she was found within five minutes. If this was a suicide, she arranged it so her family didn't find her and that LE would find her rather easily.

jmo, subject to change

Do you remember Jennifer Huston? That was one of the things she did that threw everyone off - why would she stop at a convenience store if she was going to kill herself?

From Nancy Grace: Rita's Husband and Daughter were called down to the Sheriff's office at around 2 AM, where they were told Rita was found dead.

Ugh. Is that normal procedure? Seems like they would've gone to their home to notify them :(

That's exactly who I was thinking of when I mentioned she might be hungry.

Nancy Grace expert is saying that one thing the ME is looking for in a toxicology report is poisoning from the exhaust fumes of the car. Meaning they may be holding back the manner of death because the car fumes could have played a role in speeding her death or they think she was unconscious/semi-conscious from the fumes when shot.

An expert said that? If they are holding a manner of death, it's because they don't know if it's natural, homicide, suicide or accidental (well, obviously it was not accidental or natural but I am guessing they are waiting to see between the other two). Fumes contributing (or not) would be a cause of death, not a manner of death. They released the cause of death-which is gunshot wound to the abdomen/chest.

"Manner of death is the way to categorize death as required by the Washington State Department of Health. The classifications are natural, accident, suicide, homicide, undetermined, and pending. Only medical examiners and coroners may use all of the manners of death. Other certifiers must use natural or refer the death to the medical examiner. The manner of death is determined by the medical examiner."

Wow this has taken a strange turn! Glad that Ozzie is finally speaking out.

I was watching NG and now I'm lost. Who is saying what now?

It would look like that if the bullet entered from outside. IMO if the bullet exited through the window it would look different.

I didn't find one of the rear window but found video of shooting through the windsheild from inside the car and it looks the same. Why would that rear window completely shatter from one bullet hole?

This is the local sheriff here, Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich. I was reading his quotes. All this information is coming out at once. I really like him and think he will get to the bottom of this.

I've not heard mention of this but it goes back to her original narrative:

Have LE said whether or not they found injury to her head (head trauma) resulting from an earlier blow suffered during initial alleged abduction?

Well, let's see if we can come up with any other explanation. How else could the window have been broken?

Seems almost like she was running from someone/something and got caught.

I can't find anything new. What has he said? If the FBI took over the investigation would the Sheriff still give a press conference with new info?

IDK if it would shatter or not but after the bullet went through the trunk and seat the shape would mushroom out and cause more damage when exiting through the window IMO. That is IF the shot was fired from inside the trunk. I'm not convinced of anything at this point. Thoroughly confused.

It wouldn't.

Me too. I have no idea. I am just trying to make sense of all these pieces.

So a gun shot causes more damage when shot through a barrier vs being shot through no barrier?

I'm not buying this. IMO.
