In the warrant file, it's reported that the officer said there was "silence."

"Newly filed court documents bring up even more questions, an officer said she called Maze's cell phone number about 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night. Someone answered and the officer said there were gunshots, then silence."

But, Rita called her husband AFTER that at 10:25 ?? HUH???? ETA and failed to mention that she had been shot or had heard shots?

Time zones must be wrong somewhere in these timelines. At 10:25 in Helena, MT it was only 9:25 in Spokane.

Perhaps whoever killed her didn't realise she was on a live call to LE at the time. Then, after shooting her, he had a "last call"from her at 10:25.....I don't like what that implies, but this whole thing smells like a rotten fish in Denmark. Phone pings are going to be at play her. Everyone's phone pings .... Imo.

No. I think the 10 pm is a time difference issue.

*Edited. I realized I put the wrong time. Sorry!

I'm sure her phone is being tracked - along with analysis of the videos of her credit card usage, but I really think it's going to be the gun that tells the tale. What angle was it shot from? Is there residue on her hands?

There's something screwy with that timeline. Love's Travel Stop in Ritzville is about 60 miles from where she was found.

Spokane County Sheriff’s Office investigators found $50 in cash, a folding knife and two semi-automatic 9 mm pistol magazines in Maze’s purse...

In the trunk, a Ruger LC9, which is a 9 mm pistol, was discovered, including the magazine and a bullet in the chamber...

Two shell casings were found in the trunk — one by Maze’s left arm and one by her right arm...

My bold.
Would there be a bullet in the chamber of the Ruger LC9, after the gun had been fired? (doh, is this the meaning of 'semi-automatic'?) And, is it usual for someone to carry "two semi-automatic 9 mm pistol magazines" in addition to the one loaded in the gun they carry for personal protection?

Such a terrible puzzle!

Oh wow, Rita's death location is on there as "other" and says "scene still active" I wonder if that means it is still blocked off with police tape?

Do we know the name of the trucking company located at 7600 W Geiger? I could run out there and check it out if it would help. Can take some photos if anyone thinks it would be helpful too.

How many bullets does a magazine hold? WHY would she have 3 with her? It sounds like she was planning a mass murder! (I don't think she was, but it's just so very odd to me as a non-gun-owner)

Here's the report of the tracking dog, which the dog was the first one brought in:
The supervisor didn't want to contaminate their crime scene with a lot of people until a patrol dog had a chance to track the suspect, last detected heading north on foot. Deputies then opened the trunk and found Maze's body inside.

Without having clarity on the timeline, it for instance could be that the dog was smelling her scent because she wandered around the area prior to committing suicide. If she was at Love's Travel Stop at about 10 PM PST and committed suicide at 12:30 AM PST, that would have given her about an hour of free time taking travel time into account.

Yes, I’d be interested in photos that show any security cameras in the vicinity of where she was found by LE in the trunk of her car.
Thanks Blondie in Spokane!

Media photos are showing the buildings of Penske Truck Rental at the corner of W. Geiger and S.Spotted.
I have put all locations on this map (except for private addresses of family and unknown location of plate reader in Post Falls)

It sounds like she was at either Penske Truck Rental or American Van Service

Standard clips hold 7 and extended hold 9, so if they were fully loaded at the beginning, she would have had at least 21 rounds

So they located her vehicle at 12:36, but didn't open the trunk and locate Rita until 1:19? Why did they wait so long? If someone is being held captive in the trunk of a car, and gunshots were heard, wouldn't you look there first?

From Gardener's post #1004 (RSBM):

"Deputies with the Spokane Sheriff’s Office located Maze’s vehicle at 12:36 a.m. Pacific Standard Time Wednesday."

"At 1:19 a.m., deputies located blood on the ground near the vehicle, then located Maze’s body in the trunk and called for medics."

I wonder why it took from 12:36 until 1:19 for the blood to be noticed if it was close to the car?

Can you link or quote the timeline you're looking at?

EDITED: Nevermind - I see a quote above. Thanks!

I'm sure her phone is being tracked

A phone sends out a ping every few minutes unless you take the battery out or the battery goes flat. Merely switching the phone off does not stop this pinging process.

You'd think so. From what has been reported she was apparently shot in the heart, but what if she wasn't? She could have bled out in the trunk/boot while they were waiting for the dog.
