Colder than I wanted to Belive........

Here in the Black Hills of South Dakota it was -5 this morning and snowing. I drove to Rapid City this morning and it was almost blizzard conditions for about 25 miles. I think we won't get out of single digits tomorrow.

Currently -30 F with the windchill in Williston. That is some miserable, miserable cold. Hopefully people continue LISTEN to LE and don't try to search for Sherry themselves. Cold like that kills you pretty quickly, especially if you get disoriented.

P.S. Jacie Estes, I get goosebumps whenever I read your signature. Really powerful words.

Or the cousin-in-law could have been married to his sibling. I don't know about other places but we don't claim in-laws past the immediate family. My cousins are MY cousins, not my husband's, and vice versa. I don't call his cousins my cousins-in-law. Never met most of them, and I've got a few he wouldn't claim even if they were his, KWIM? :floorlaugh:

Well, I sort of do intellectually.

I come from a culture that counts kinship to the 9th degree. I sure don't know all my relatives to the 9th degree but to within 3-4 degrees I do.

Gives two people something to talk about when they first meet as they trace out possible kinship. Who needs sports when you have cousins?

Honestly, how likely is it that Sherrie can be found during the winter months, without help from the suspects? It sounds like almost an impossible task to me. Look at how often missing people are "overlooked" while searching small, contained areas.

Given Waters's three previous convictions for hit and run involving personal injury, his many DUIs and that it was his vehicle that was involved, I think there's a pretty good chance he was the driver. And I still think there's a pretty good chance that this was yet another catastrophic example of his horrible driving skills.

As many have commented, for some people, 6:30 am Saturday morning is just the tail end of Friday night.

I can think of several cases where the perpetrator was highly motivated to help LE find the victims but they were unable to remember the exact locations. Even getting them out and driving them around wasn't successful.

If these two were unfamiliar with the area, if they panicked, if they were driving around sticking to gravel roads and two lanes, if they were under the influence or if many other factors, they may not be able to describe where they left her accurately.

And if they didn't have cell phones or were out of cell coverage for significant periods of time, then cell phone pings are not going to be particularly helpful either.

Have they released the description of the vehicle? If they have not released it, we can't be sure it was Waters truck that they were in... maybe they stole a pickup someplace or I still have not gotten a 3rd man with these two out of my mind....

This says that they left CO earlier this month, so it was after the holidays (if this report is correct).

That is a thought but I thought it was said that an anonymous tip lead them to the suspects?
BBM
I thought of that, but the tip may have helped LE locate the suspects, or one of them, while LE already had evidence as to who one of the perps was.

Thanks and welcome to WS!

It looks as if these 2 characters are unemployed so they're not oil workers, but we still don't know why they were in the Sidney/Williston area.

I wonder if they were working for one of the Builders with all the new construction going up? I see one listed Construction work and one listed Laborer as what they do. Had they JUST gotten to that area do you know?

I was no another site and they were talking about the drivers license of these two individuals. How did Waters even get a CO drivers license with his record? Any body have any ideas?

A former roommate and coworker of the suspect in Florida said Waters had worked in construction and roofing before leaving the state more than a year ago.

Kenneth Forbes of Sebastian, Fla., said Waters "worked hard and partied hard" — and had regular run-ins with local law enforcement. Forbes said he never knew Waters to be violent, but acknowledged that it's been seven years since he last saw him.

"We made money and he partied real hard. That was his main goal— and girls," Forbes said. "I know that he was wild, and I know that we partied a hell of a lot in our years. But there was never any violence in it. ... I'm not defending him or accusing him. I'm just saying that's how he was."

It is very cold something around -11 and -25 with the wind chill........I belive with this weather anything they come accross will MOST DEFNITLY be PRESERVED(my opinion)
Just the thought of her being out in the cold today just makes me sad, I wish someone would find her. She deserves to be back with her family.

It is snowing here (SW Montana) and has been all day. Is it snowing in Sidney (or expected to?) I'm afraid any disturbed earth is going to be covered by snow.

Maybe it will be to cold to snow. Maybe they will find her tomorrow.

My prayers are with her family.

There is no such thing as too cold to snow AFAIK. Our temp is -9 right now and it is snowing.

Praying for a miracle. Those I believe in.

If there is a third person involved, I hope he/she can give a better idea where Sherry is.
