What?!?!?! Rape is rape. Period. Statutory rape is simply a classification of the inability of the VICTIM to consent. Under the law, she was not able to consent due to her age. Under the law, he used a position of authority to gain access to his VICTIM. A child. Who he raped.
Well, there's the case where a woman convicted of her 13th DUI got a plea bargain that kept her out of jail. The same judge presided over it and allegedly warned her that if she drives drunk again (a 14th time?) and kills someone, she "will spend some real time in prison."
I am guessing by "some real time" that judge means 30 days.

I have to watch my violent Buddhist mouth ALL of the time. I'm with you...position of authority..minor..how were her cognitive processes working? Confused? You bet. Not enough jail time .Wow.
I have to pretty much refrain from further comment as it would for sure get me a lifetime ban.

Baugh said he didn't realize at first that the minimum sentence should have been two years." BBM
I wonder if there is another remedy available for changing the sentence.
The Montana attorney general's office on Friday asked the state Supreme Court to throw out a 30-day sentence given to a teacher who raped a 14-year-old girl, saying the punishment was illegally lenient.
