Quite a while back, I wrote up a post on another thread where I was discussing why I think a certain 2003 NY/Midtown Jane Doe might have been an Alcala victim. I realized at the time this was incredibly unlikely, but couldn't help noticing a couple of points regardless. I figured I was going to research it just to put it to rest, like rule it out, I still cannot rule it out. I'm going to paste in the post I had on the other thread and follow it up with a couple extra notes.
I'm wondering about this girl in these Alcala photographs:
The bricks in the background of that image up there look like the brick background at the NYC nightclub "The Scene," which operated in NYC in the 1960s. There were apartments above the club. And there was a Jane Doe from that building where "The Scene" was located who has only recently been identified/Patricia McGlone. They're placing her date of death at 1969. She was strangled with an electrical cord and encased in concrete in the basement of301 W. 46th St/Hell's Kitchen, where the club was located. I started wondering if this Jane Doe, named Patricia McGlone, was an Alcala victim, but I figured I was probably wrong. However, I've noticed some other things since. There appear to be rings in Alcala's jewelry pouch. The picture of the pouch that I've seen is terrible, it's very difficult to make out what's in there, but I'm sure I saw rings, and I thought one of those rings
might be a claddagh ring, which is something Irish-Americans would be familiar with back in the 60s. They're love/friendship rings, some people even use these rings as wedding rings. This could connect with an Irish-American victim in NYC, and the recently identified Jane Doe is Irish-American. She was also very young, which I also find alarming based on these Alcala pics. But this very young newly-identified victim would have been married, and they didn't mention a wedding ring among her remains. I also wonder if someone didn't marry her under an alias (and this has proven to be correct, her husband "Donald Grant" used an alias), she was evidently both married and murdered in 1969. Also, as I looked through other of Alcala's photos, I saw this pic:
So I'm wondering now if this is the same girl in the other Alcala pics above, just somewhat older and she cut her hair. I can't get over how much the brick background on this pic particularly resembles the brick background from downstairs club "The Scene," and that is the building where they discovered the young female victim in 2003. I've gotten images of the outside of the building where the 2003 victim was discovered, those building images (where "Scene" was located) "could" theoretically "match up" with this Alcala photo apartment's layout. I've also to the extent possible gotten images of the neighboring buildings for the building where the victim's body was found, which hasn't been very easy to do since many have been since demolished, but from what I saw, that could all line up as well.
There are extremely creepy things about this final image entered here just by itself. If you look between the two windows, there is a horrifying image, either being reflected or somehow placed there (you may be able to see it on certain copies of this image blown up), and I won't get into what it is, but it's terrifying. And this photo's cropped, but I've seen a larger version, and that thing dangling from above, you see it beneath the girl, it's pink, that is a swing. (???) At first I thought it was a drop-down table or something, but no, it's a swing. This girl is getting something to eat, so I wondered if she wasn't staying or living there (which she would have been if married to an SK using an alias). I wonder if she saw the horrifying image in the background and it wasn't a message to her. She looks terrified. The girl in the prior two first photos looks upset, but this third image, she looks uncomfortable, perhaps petrified and/or in shock, and the image is slightly blurred. No eye contact. And also, the girl in the third image may have a large ring on what would be her right ring finger, but it's very blurry, I can't tell for certain. It seemed to when I blew up the image. They identified the Manhattan Jane Doe 2003 with a large gold ring with her initials found with her remains. Additional notes: In this third image, the girl appears to be standing on a very large and dark colored rug, maybe chocolate colored, not sure if there's any red tint; the Jane Doe was found wrapped in a very large rust-colored rug. The Jane Doe was found hogtied with electrical cord, that must have been a long cord. In the image, there's a vacuum cleaner (they have very long cords) in the background. I looked up McGlones in the region at random, they generally have darker skin and very dark hair. (Certain counties in Ireland can lend themselves to much fairer v darker skin tone and coloring generally.) I also tracked what I could find for the victim's family members and found a source noting one of her relatives (I believe it was an uncle) had a dark, ruddy complexion. Also, Patricia McGlone's "Donald Grant" husband who used the alias-- he is listed at this time in a phone directory at having lived at 301 W. 46th St., so he lived in the same building as the club. There were apartments upstairs. Again, this could sync with the Alcala images. "Donald Grant" listed his profession as "musician." Alcala's mother was evidently a gifted musician, I've seen different things on sources, saw proficient pianist and/or harpist, and he supposedly also loved the piano. I've wondered if this isn't how he struck up an association with victim Ellen Hover. And also, in one document I saw, it notes he mentions some certain song when trying to defend himself on his charges, a song by folk musician Arlo Guthrie, who played many, many small venues right around this time in Greenwich Village. "The Scene" had strong ties especially in its later years to the area's folk musicians, and people in the folk scene did play there.
This post is pure speculation. I cannot help but wonder about this. Alcala was in NYC in 1969 according to some sources, and former site of "Scene" nightclub is where they found this victim I had mentioned that's recently been identified. There were experimental type films shot there, very "artsy" crowd at Scene nightclub, that's Alcala all day long, NYU film student, "Dating Game." I just can't help but wonder. I also saw that on his "resume" he evidently worked security, although I don't know where. I wonder if he may have had some security gig with "Scene" nightclub. And also, I know when the club opened, they used a house pianist. Jumping back to the first Alcala image of the girl, her necklaces in the first image. She has love beads on, either that or Mardi Gras beads. I tend towards love beads, and they don't really go with her outfit. Alcala wore such beads. Perhaps (just in theory) he gave her the beads. Also, she has a very distinctive necklace on that I'm sure is her own. This necklace:

I figured at first it was just a random design, but then I noticed the top portion looks a little like a shamrock and the middle looks like a cross. It's cut off a bit on here at the bottom, but I also think the part dangling at the very bottom may be another cross. I think this may be along the lines of what they call an "infinity necklace," either silver or pewter. Whatever the case, the necklace has a bit of a Celtic feel to me.
Another note: she is beneath a Le Point Cardinal poster in that image, I guess these posters are associated with art at a French gallery. Images of "Scene" would also sync with this informal display of very artistic/"artsy" types of images, there are "Scene" pics where such images are displayed in exactly the same way, no frame, just fixed randomly to walls.
This is the newest rendering I've seen for Patricia McGlone online. To my knowledge, there is no actual photo of her, at least not yet:

I believe that Alcala is known to have used not just the John Berger alias, but also (If I'm not mistaken), "John Ronald." And I think this rendering above looks like the girl in the Alcala images. Long post, thanks for your patience, all MOO & pure speculation. Probably not, but I find it just very curious.
