Hi everyone. I didn't see an introductions forum so I thought I'd introduce myself briefly here. I'm a long-time lurker and thought I'd sign up to participate.
I'm a big fan of Unsolved Mysteries from way back, which is how I first learned about this mystery couple. I'd seen the composite drawings but not the post-mortem pics until this evening. The pictures taken in the morgue (before the bodies were cleaned up) really got to me, but I forced myself to look at them. This couple, like all unidentified victims, deserve to have their identities back so they can rest in peace, and their families can find closure. The fact that this case is still talked about and debated on years later is very encouraging.
I wanted to comment that I think what you're all doing here is just wonderful. Your efforts, and that of law enforcement and other volunteers, give me hope. For example, I have read several threads from members suggesting possible matches of missing people to John and Jane Does, and many of such cases have been solved from those simple comparisons. It's marvelous. I glad to be here and I hope to perhaps make my own contribution. It may not be much, but perhaps it'll count for something. Thank you all for encouraging others to get involved.
I wish I had something else to add about this mystery couple but I really don't. I've enjoyed reading the postings and the discussions of the possible histories and identities of these two people. Keep it up. One of these days, it WILL pay off.
