My question.....Is this the reason BC's attorneys are having subpoena's served? Are they entitled to say anything or challenge anything in front of the GJ?

No to the GJ - the DA presents his case may call a LEO or two maybe but that's it in NC - no defense lawyers and no presentation from them in a GJ proceeding.

i'm puzzled about 2 things (sry if these issues have been resolved in earlier posts that i might have missed):

1. Why would bc be carrying the car seats out of the house in one of the N & O pictures taken when police were searching house. That would mean that the car seats were either in the house or in the car in the garage, do you suppose?

2. assuming that nancy normally drove the car in the driveway, Why weren't the car seats in the car that Nancy usually drove, the one in the driveway, right?

3. and as far as i can tell, they only paid taxes on owing 1 car. I'm guessing that means that they were leasing the other car, but i don't know if anybody else has resolved that queston.

SF...very early on when this case surfaced I stated something was wrong with the SUV and the taxes. Many thought it was a Cisco car or leased car.

It is not from what we have found. The car only had taxes paid once in 03/07..No bill for 03/08. There are no date stickers on the tag either.

RED FLAG! Who now owns this car?? It is obvious something is not right when Wake Co taxes show NO SUV any longer.

As to the carseat question, wasn't Brad coming out of the house with the carseats because Nancy's parents had been keeping the girls? Maybe Nancy's parents had given him the carseats in his car and he took them into the house.

About the BMW X5 of Nancy's. The close shots of it show it to be squeaky clean. I wonder if they checked to see if it had been to a car wash, or washed. I suppose there could be residual water under the nooks and crannies, or some way they could tell if it was very recently washed on the day of the "disappearance"? Any LE people around? I know that there is a nice car wash, maybe two, down Kildaire Farm Road in the direction of the children's day care.

Harvey Montague owns the car wash you are talking about, corner of Penny and Kildaire. I doubt there are cameras there to be of much help. I certainly bet if he was asked to go thru receipts and transactions he would gladly do it.

I thought I was talking to myself too, then I went over to the Caylee thread to catch up. I love hearing about your daily movements through the community and just the stuff you notice around you over there in LochmereLand. Here on the Bond Park side of the world things are quiet.

Slightly OT: Have you noticed how cute/handsome some of these Cary cops are? There was a swarm of them (swarm = 6) back in late '06 when my 55 yr old next door neighbor was found dead in her bed (heart attack as it turned out) and I went outside to ask them what was up since there were like 3 cars and they were all standing around. I thought maybe we had a burglary and then they told me the news. Anyway, they were so nice and well, yes, handsome. Just an observation! Haven't been able to check out the firefighters yet. :wink:

i wondered the same thing. there's one car within a few blocks of Harris Teeter near the corner of Cary Pkwy & Kildare Farm, & another in the same strip shops with Food Lion near Bella's preschool. The one by Bella's school is coin-operated & can be used at any time of the day or night. I don't think there's a surveilance camera there---it's slightly back from the other stores & located on Penny Road. The other one isn't a 24/7 car wash.

the medical examiner testified at one of the custody hearings. it seems likely that a preliminary report ready.

according to just the fax , in NC, it is the lead investigator who presents the case to the Grand Jury. The DA is not in the room.

The one near Bella's school...most swipe their card. Costing $8 to $10 a drivethru many do not have that much change. I certainly don't carry $10 in change.

don't know if it means anything, but it is strange that the 2nd vehicle--the 2004 BMW SW WPN--is a 2004 that they only paid taxes on in 2007 & clearly were not billed (therefore the car was no longer in their name) on January 2008 or later for the annual taxes on this car.

extremely unlikely that cisco took over the ownership of the car. hum....

I had to meet with 2 detectives not too long ago ...NOT BECAUSE OF BC....and I sat there thinking...what else can I find to talk about. You are correct. I think they must have a portfollio done to get the job.

uh huh -you are correct. It is a mystery but it definitely is no longer listed under Brad's name.

something isn't quite right here with that SUV. the license # is still the same # as when Brad owned it. if somebody else had bought it, the title would have been changed & they would have gotten a new license plate number, i believe.

probably not a big deal but one more thing that just doesn't add up.

and it might be interesting as to who owns it. once again, something that nancy's friends know about, if there's something off kilter here

I have searched every name that has come up either in the press or through the affidavits and have not been able to find the SUV listed. It is definitely not listed in Brad's name and hasn't been for over a year. Just my guess - Brad transferred ownership to someone else, here goes my tunnel vision, so Nancy could not have it.

One possibility is and I do not know if it really is a possibility is after buying the vehicle in 2006, Brad later changed his mind and requested it be turned into a lease. In which case it would not show in his records. Now if that is possible - I really do not know since he originally set it up as a purchase.
