So Brad did not give her the usual $300 on Friday morning before her murder and he admits he did not give her any money that day nor make an attempt to get any.

Only washed the floor in the kitchen and the hallway to the front door. Interesting choice of floors to wash when you look at Daphne's post in the photos link of the house floor plan.

In his affy he said Hannah called him around 9:30 - 10am and that Jessica called him around 10:30am and then he called JA back to get Carey's phone number (around noon I think).

Roy! Coming from you I'm shocked!! What is it that made him look 'guilty' to you?

The question about "did your wife say she hated you that day?"

His demeanor changes from calm to totally dejected. He is losing his cool but trying to maintain it. And then he can't recall if Nancy ever used those exact words.

But here is what I see. Two people who are fighting and saying horrible things to each other ALL THE TIME that nobody can really remember just what was said. I believe an innocent man would have said:

"I don't recall but, probably. We said awful things all the time"

I have a feeling that these videos are going to give us all LOTS to talk about tonight!!!

He looked nervous to me, but I can't imagine that a deposition is a very comfortable environment, nor is it intended to be. Anyone recognize the voice of the female attorney asking questions? Southern born 'n bred for sure!

It sounds like Chief Bazemore to me...

Alice Stubbs ? She is the attorney of record for the Rentz's.

Wonder why he didn't give her any money - perhaps because he knew she wouldn't need it???????????????

We know that there is a 'reason' for every question. Brad can't remember if Nancy ever said I hate you , nor who was within earshot. Ya know there will a witness or several that heard those words.( and saw /heard his reaction)

Well, she was going to be painting - meaning she could earn her own money in Brad's world. But it does seem to indicate he was not as diligent about giving her her weekly stipend as he claimed in his affidavit. Nor did he stop by the bank on his way home to get it either, obviously it could wait until after his tennis match the following day  Oh wait, he now says he didn't know about the painting deal...

BUT but but.........Brad says Jessica never mentioned anything about painting, just that Nancy was supposed to show up at her place.

I'm not 100% sure of the dates of the custody hearing... the 13th stuck in my mind for some reason.

Anyway, Shirley Hull's affy shows that Brad lied in HIS affy about there only being ONE fight in front of the girls AND that he never used profanity.

Sure seems like that noose is tightening, doesn't it?

How are K&B going to make it seem that everyone else is lying about what they personally witnessed? They are using the hearsay reason for the things Nancy's friends said in their affys that they didn't personally observe (and that's fair). However, the things witnessed directly by others...they will not be able to easily discredit these witnesses, and some of these other facts emerging corroborate some things in the friends' affys. Will K&B try to insinuate that there is a conspiracy against Brad?

You know SG - that affidavit, Shirley Hull, makes me plumb mad. Look at what he did in public to Nancy and those little girls - just imagine what it was like behind closed doors.

I am appalled that he has not gone, and has no interest in going, to the spot where her body was located. And acts as though he barely knows where it is. "I don't know, I guess it's about here...". Honestly. That just disgusts me.

And I know that there are probably people who don't visit a scene like that if it is their loved one but to be so passe about it.

I happen to agree. although calling her a loved one might be a bit of a stretch at this point.

Unless their relationship had deteriorated to the point where he would have been secretly happy had she died (like in a car accident, etc) then how you could not see for yourself where your wife's body was found is completely beyond me. Even if you DIDN'T do it, and you HATED the other person - you'd go. It would be part of closure, or understanding, or something. But to say he has no interest in going.....

The lawyer got him on this one though. She asks hims to draw it on the paper she is showing him, and he comments it is off the map - she asks him how he knows that - gave me a chuckle.

It's just me personally but even if my ex-husband, and believe me - there's no love lost there, died tomorrow in some tragic way, I would probably still visit the site to pay my respects. If I couldn't visit the site, I would definately want to have learned enough to be able to identify the area on a map.

Brad looks both arrogant and nervous in these videos. He's also looking down or away as he's answering questions and only makes eye contact at the end of his answer. I think this shows dishonesty in his answers. His lawyers should have coached him a lot better than this.

And, really, you can't remember if your wife told you that she hated you that day? Seems kind of like it should be a yes or no answer. You don't remember if she's ever used those words with you? Really? I find that hard to believe. We remember hurtful and angry words a lot longer than we remember kind ones.

Happy birthday Coops! I hope it's your last one on the outside. :behindbar

Well really he's been there once already.

I've deposed a lot of people. One theme that occurs frequently is that when the witness wants to create the perception that he had nothing to do with a particular action, he will feign more ignorance of the event than is reasonable.

Cooper did that here. He acted like he had only minimal knowledge of where his wife's body was found, and said things like "the report" said as if there were any reason to question it.

Yet if he had not committed the murder, his interest in the location of the body would have been intense for at least two reasons (discounting that he might actually have cared about Nancy and therefore have an interest in what happened to her which would have been the best reason): 1) the desire, like many people, to know who did this - in this case to his children's mother and his wife (wedding band on people yet he has no interest in the murder!) and the manner and location of the body disposal is relevant to that, and 2) if he felt like the finger were being pointed at him unfairly, the desire to know the basic facts of the case as close as possible to right the injustice and defend himself.

The feigned ignorance is superficial. It says, "I know nothing of the murder so I cannot give you any details about it which should tell you I had nothing to do with it." The deeper strategy would have been to show interest in the case, but that does have the risk of the attorney getting you to say something that maybe was not revealed in the press.

Anyway, I haven't watched the other videos, but this one follows a path taken many times before.

I recognize all the facts are not on the table yet, but that clip did him no good in my book.

Was there more than one 26 second clip? If so, the rest has been removed from WRAL.

At the Tharrington Smith offices...or K&B...take yer pick!
