OK ~ JB says Nevaeh was upstairs at Austin's, came back home, changed her clothes, grabbed a popsicle and then went back up to Austin's. And she knows she was up there! :waitasec: Why would Nevaeh have to come back home and change clothes? And if it was dinner time, why wouldn't JB keep her at home and fix dinner? I don't believe any of this. MOO

I really wonder how often "mom" got off the couch and actually cooked for Neveah. She supposedly had lunch at the neighbor's place at 3:30, and then JB was just "thinking" of making dinner at 7 pm at night? It's been a long time since my kids were 5, but isn't 7-7:30 usually bath and getting ready for bed time for a 5 year old?

How can she sit there and talk about her baby girl being so decomposed she can't be visually identified and not shed a tear???? This women sickens me. I hoep NG rips her apart....OMG, she just said her daughter LIES!!!!! OMG I AM GONNA FLIP OUT!!!!!

When I heard that I crunched down in my sofa and said to self "Nancy is going to go all commando now" and she sure did!

It was probably one of the most uncomfortable interviews I've ever witnessed. That egg donor needs to go back under the rock from which she came!

And what was with I didn't go outside to see her go upstairs, then she did, then she didn't. OMG!!!!

:bang:

Shergal - you are so spot on. When she said NB was a liar about being hungry, I was like...WHAT! Did you just call your deceased daughter a liar?

No you din't you stupid *%*)$*)*#)%*)#*%/.

Anyway, 5 year olds are usually (or should be) on a pretty good routine. Mine was, dinner round 5:00, bath after, maybe 1/2 hour of tv, then books, singing a goodnight song, and bedtime (by 8:00).

Maybe that's one of the reasons JB made such a hasty exit.

You know that THAT was the exact moment in the show that every Websleuther on here stiffened up and said, "oh no...girl you did NOT just go there...look, look at Ms Nancy ...she is ready to blow!" :bang:

I can no longer watch Nancy without having you all right there in the room with me!

Seriously though...JB's dispassionate media tour is helping her as much as it helped the Anthony's. Which is not at all and raises more questions and fires up more hinky meters than it stops.

It certainly isn't the picture of a concerned or grieving mother.

BBM

You are right! I swear I wanted the couch just to suck me up. I was thinking of everyone here doing the same thing.

:(

And don't forget her friend! Looked like she wanted to slither right out of her chair, especially when JB waffled about watching Neveah go up the stairs.

Deja vu ~ Melinda Duckett, Casey Anthony, etc. MOO

We may not be "professionals" but me thinks we are getting better and better at spotting liars, mistruthers, backwards thinkers and what nots.....

Remember Nevaeh"Lies" about being hungry. Isn't that the oddest thing for a Mother to say about a 5 year old child. I could see where she would say Nevaeh doesn't know, realize, care when she is hungry but LIES? How did that POP into that womans head at that particular moment? Isn't it about 3:30pm? Or am I wrong about the time when she went upstairs.

Am surprised no one mentioned this earlier, but if you rewatch NG, take notice of JB's eyes when she speaks. The majority of the time she is looking straight down into her lap. Reminds me of the television interviews Susan Smith did while claiming her boys were kidnapped by the carjacker. After her confession, a lot was stated about her inability to look the camera or her interviewer in the eye (re: lying...)

And OT....the "JB" is getting very confusing...kept wondering why everyone was talking about Jose Baez in this thread! HA!)

I definitely heard paper crunching, and that she was reading from notes. Did anyone else catch that?

Even My DH said WS will be smokin' tonite after that. (The Nevaeh Lies Comment).

Thanks, Facts given, for the link to the CNN transcript. NOW I see where JB was going with GK's debt. She's indicating maybe the person who was owed money went after Nevaeh to get through to GK.

http://edition.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0906/08/ng.01.html

GRACE: How could that possibly be linked to your daughter`s disappearance, the fact that this sex offender, friend of yours, owed somebody some money? How could that remotely be linked to your child`s disappearance?

BUCHANAN: I honestly don`t know. What I do know.

GRACE: Well, you`re the one that said it so you must have known something?

BUCHANAN: All these scenarios are just running through my head constantly. And I think that possibly he might have owed someone money, and then to get to him is through a close loved one or -- you know, anything. All these thoughts are just running through my head.

I've bolded this little bit because when I first heard it, it sent off alarms in my head. In this statement, she indicates that SHE, contender for "Mother of the Year" along with Casey, thought of herself as "a close loved one" to GK! It's as though somene GK owed money to would punish him for not paying up by killing her daughter.

I still can't begin to fathom the meaning of it. I'm thunderstruck!

What I thought was strange was that before Nevaeh's body was found JB always spoke about her in past tense and now for some reason she was speaking about her in presense tense.

Oh absolutely!!

JB is on again.

Curious - will the fishermen get the reward money? As much horror as they went thru, I sure hope so.

Best,

And don't forget her friend! Looked like she wanted to slither right out of her chair, especially when JB waffled about watching Neveah go up the stairs.

Yes, the looks on the friends face at quite a few of JB's answers to questions were priceless. The answer to her own question that NG asked her was in fact pretty lame and one she couldn't answer. Talk about the blind leading the blind, we saw first hand why this is NOT a good idea. I'd be willing to bet the girls aren't going to lunch tomorrow.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the great re-cappers!
:blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss::blowkiss:

I'm going to stay up and watch NG at midnight. This sounds like one NOT to miss.

Well Nevaeh's mother Jennifer is certainly not the great communicator. Nor does she have a vast vocabulary.
But most of all, she is very defensive. I think she was on NG tonight only to try and make the public believe she did not have anything to do with her daughter's disappearance, other than ignoring her, when she should have been watching her.
Earlier in this case when she speaks about SO George being like a father figure or that her daughter was never alone with him, she wasn't defending him, but herself and her parenting skills; something she has probably never concerned about before. She gave birth to Nevaeh but was never been her mother.
No I don't think she had anything to do with her little girl's murder and kidnapping. She's not bright enough to put something together to fool anyone.
And, I don't think she knows who did the crime. But she certainly knows that pointing the finger at others could take the heat off of her.
I'm shaking my head after watching her try to handle this interview with NG. I wonder how she does during LE's questioning?
This will be an interesting case to follow. I truly hope the idot who did this is caught in a matter of days. Cops! Do your thing!

Your post has so much meat to it Azwriter I thought it deserved to be brought forward in case anyone missed it.

I had the same thought too while listening to her speak, and thought Holy Horrors, no wonder LE has had her in like 5 times for interviews/interrogation.

At 3:30, according to the upstairs neighbor's statement, JB went to the upstairs apartment to get Neveah who was there playing with her little friend Austin. It's unclear what occurred between 3:30 and 6:30, but a trip to K-Mart has been mentioned. It was 6:30 when Neveah left for the last time. :(

Before leaving, she changed her clothes because she had an accident.
She was wearing knee-length jeans and a baby blue, red-and-white striped shirt with a V-neck white collar. Potty trained, but with a habit of waiting until the last second to use the bathroom, Buchanan said, Nevaeh had just had an accident and changed her clothes.

I wish the reporter would've used a direct quote from the mother regarding the sentence I bolded.

Ohh My spine curled when I heard her say that. My God. But again, it's not so hard to believe that this mother would call Nevaeh a liar even to her face.

It's the lack of knowing right from wrong. The inablity to know what is OK for your kids and what is not OK. Basic stuff for you and I but impossible for her.

And I think all us mothers know that 5 year olds should be on a schedule/routine. It's not up to a 5 year old to tell the parent when they are hungry, when they should put on shoes, when to be bathed, or where or when they are going anywhere.

In this case, it sounds like it's a total role reversal where JB is the child and NB was the parent -- at 5 years old!

This came to light in a couple of statements JB said:

- she grabbed a popsicle and walked out the door.

- I trusted she was going to do what she said she was going to do

- she lies (about being hungry)

Who puts that kind of pressure on a 5 year old. It's like poor NB had to fend for herself. Poor wee one.

And as I've said before -- So sorry Nevaeh baby that no one was there to protect you. May you find peace with the angels.

I would have to look again...but you know what? All that looking down...it did look like she was consulting notes.

In all fairness, these two were easy prey for NG. And all that baloney about whether it was dark and what time the sun set, pffft...NG was ridiculous.

I think the friend was there to answer questions. It would've been nice of NG to ask them AND allow her to reply. Maybe we'd have some answers now from someone other than JB.

Possibly. GK said he hadn't seen JB for a month prior to Nevaeh's disappearance.

Jennifer has been quoted as saying she hadn't seen GK for "four days" before Nevaeh disappeared.
